didnt bother with the sand. must be 20 new shoots popping


i see lots of pesto in the coming weeks

now you got a little taste for growing, you should start sowing other types of seeds if you can :)

look how long its been!

ok,
all the new shoots were weeds.
heh

the plants still doing ok but it spent about a month behind a window
south facing, but less than idea
im putting it out again this week

made a couple of tomato basil soups and took about half
i cutting basically straight down height wise
thinking this will get sun into the middle more

sure isnt taking over the pot its in though

Hit it twice in a row with some lite fish ferts, betchya you'll be amazed.

ok...
6 months later. never got more shoots
it just got tall and woody
ive been keeping the flowers pinched off but it really wants to flower this time so im gonna let it

thinking it will produce seeds i can plant in the pot with it and get some better leaf producing plants

will a basil self propagate this way?

I've never had a basil self sow ever, and I've grown tons of the stuff. There might be a way, but it won't happen on its own.
