Trout Mask Replica was one of the greatest musical achievements ever.

Our ears have been completely changed due to that album and the people influenced by it. It's difficult to realize just how different "Trout" was from anything that bad come before.

Beefheart was so cutting edge that avant-garde jazz musicians would show up in the audience. Mingus was a big fan.
