I remember the guys that used a grow medium that included a significant portion of peat moss said they added 3 tablespoons of lime per gallon of soil.

If I use it I add a cup to a gallon of water, shake it up and water it in.

1/4 to 1/2 a cup a pelletize dolomite per 4 gallons a soil depending how acidic it is ya cant go wrong. If 1/2 cup to 4 gallons don't balance it lighten up on the acidic parts the soil some......I wouldn't use the hydrated lime though its too strong get the grey rusty colored pelletize dolomite lime not the white powdered kind....dolomite will break down just a lil each watering just right for ya........

Yeah, just avoid the slaked/hydrated version unless you know soil chemistry.
