Over the last century, the nearly eight-inch rise of the world’s seas has already doubled the chance of “once in a century” floods for many seaside communities.

Floods reaching five feet above the current high tide line will become increasingly common along the nation’s coastlines well before the seas climb by five feet.

Sounds like common sense to me.
We should be moving everyone away from the shore and returning that land to agricultural use and parks/preserves etc...

Isn't living close to bodies of water always been dicey. If you live right on top of water with no high ground close for safety, you will always be at risk. Some places were made to get a nice view not inhabit. Beach houses routinely get destroyed and rebuilt..

our infrastructure has been built as close to the water as possible for ages because floating cargo loads are the most energy efficent manner in which to transport them.
before steam, we dug trenches across the states to float barges back and forth...
teams of horses would pull them along walking the roads built beside them

no wonder the telescope users saw CANALS when they looked at mars and thought it was inhabited

canals were the height of civilization during the early 19th century

I had all my plans set up for Belize. Then about a year ago I heard the drug gangs had found a gateway around the other blockades through Belize so .. bam maybe I not go there they not so gun allowing/friendly .. ok I still hoped until I see McAfee and his excellent exploits and now ..
