vaping doent set any OILS on fire,
but given butanes flame temperature is 1970'
im now stand impressed at what the temperature of a spark is...
amazing that butane burns at far lower temperature
than it takes to ignite it
correct?

CO2 Extraction
yes,
i knew that,
i have a picture in my head of the combustion temperatures of physical items...
somehow
id thought that gases would have combustion temperatures lower than solid materials
given what low temperatures at which these liquids become volitle
i just learn this isnt correct

CO2 Extraction
I think I may have figured out a method to do this much cheaper.
As long as recovery of the co2 is not a priority.
If you can find a co2 tank with a regulator threaded into the tank rather than welded, you simply remove the regulator and fill the tank half full with glass wool or lava rock or some other inert material.
Then you add your plant material and replace the regulator. Then you add co2 to the desired level, a little more than half full.
Then you invert the tank so that the plant material is immersed in the liquid co2 and agitate for about 15 minutes.
Then you place the tank upright and open the valve and release the co2.
Once empty of gas you remove the regulator and the plant material and then remove the glass wool which should now be coated with resin.
Place the glass wool in alcohol until the resin is totally disolved and then cook the solution down until you are left with pure extract.
I think it should work and would appreciate it if you could run my idea by the pro's to see what they think Bob

and here is a very convincing response...
basically, after reading butanes msds, hes convinced its not at all harmful or toxic AND that there is a TON of improperly purged BHO out there these days...
