couple months back i started noticing sawdust falling out of a nice piece of river driftwood ive got sitting on the block wall.
when i took a closer look i discovered 3 holes on its underside, each about 5/8th inch in diameter.
wasnt long before i noticed that bumblebees were coming and going from them
most all are black but one is a dull orange
at that point i did a search and discovered that you can purchase boxes which bumblebees will nest in.
they dont live long so they dont keep like honeybees but their still polinators
[ cept when they bite through the base of the flower and avoid the stamens... they do that sometimes ]
anyone keep polinators?

Sawdust out of wood .. it sounds more like carpenter bees.
But no, I haven’t raised pollinators, certainly not Carpenter bees, since I live in a cedar house! But a bumblebee colony might be kinda cool to try. There is both Carpenter and bumblebees around here.
