Anybody remember honey oil? Clear and killer. I remember the first time I got some.It didn't have a top on the vial and all the shit slowly pour out into my pocket on the ride home. Yeh You guessed it we cut the pocket out of my pants and smoked it. WOW. However this stuff is very dangerous to produce.

You just have to be careful.
I made this contraption to minimize the danger.
I attatch it to my fence and once I put the butane in place I leave it alone for a couple hours.

i think i have seen this somewhere did you post it anywhere else.(by the way i love it)

I may have a dark sense of humour but I think it would be hillarious if someone did light a cigarette on the other side of the fence and suddenly found himself in the middle of a mushroom cloud for no apparent reason

very nice, any advancements in design since??? did you use cooper pipe and a tip on the top?? how did you filter at the end of the cooper tubing??

Actually I am making a brick barbecue this summer and I intend to incorporate my butane extractor into the design of the bbq. When I get it done I will post a picture.
One thing I have noticed is when I seal the copper fittings with aluminum tape my yield per can of butane went way up.

ok, i can see the picture pretty good, But I'm still somewhat of a CAVEMEN & that's not something i would want to fuck up trying to build.

can you please give the spec's and how to info. I'll be able to save it then and put it to use in the future. i can't afford that fancy tesla thing . thx.

The one pictured only cost about $10.00 to build.
I got the copper pipe at work for free so I had to purchase 2 end caps.
The wood was scrap.
I bought a package of small L brackets at Home depot and used tie wire to secure everything.
I used styrofoam which I carved into the desired shape to hold the pipe away from the wood and centered on the mason jar which was recycled from Renes Ceaser Dressing.
In later runs I sealed the end caps with foil tape which I also got at work. It made a huge difference in yield and amount of butane required!
I don't know what else to tell you but I will try to answer any questions you have.

seems i cant ever get the parts to mate up correctly

ive seen a couple of these rigs since dick posted this one

both were galvanized steel with screw on end caps
and the side which the butane would mate to had a tapped hole a small fitting was threaded into
like a very small diameter funnel

always wondered how dick managed to get his to match up and run
the ones i saw both required the operator to stand there over it keeping the parts held together so that the butane would continue to flow

still wonder about the mason jar

would make it a pain to collect the oil after the process it being so deep

I think you dissolve it with alcohol and then pour it out into a glass dish.

amazing how much butane he keeps pulling out of it after repeated trips under the vacuum...
would think it would all come out the first time after a few seconds

I finally tried something they called earwax that was processed in a vacuum chamber. I did not really notice much difference except in texture.
As to your question Ben, the brand of butane I used came with a number of different adaptors and I drilled a hole in the cap which gave a tight fit and then used silicone to cement it in place.
Prior to my using foil tape on both ends I was losing quite a bit of butane to leakage but enough was passing through as a liquid that it still worked.
I can see how threaded end caps perhaps with teflon tape would be much more efficient and perhaps safer.
Once the butane evaporated I used alcohol to get it out of the jar and a shot glass to cook off the alcohol.

That is a nice little glass tube but it is only usefull if you are using nuggets rather than trim.

freezing clupms together the waxes , they can be filtered off with a coffee filter within a freezing environment, thus giving you a cleaner concentrate, also called absolute

this russian guy over at icfag, jump, has a nice pictorial over there, called absolute amber from silver lady boys, or something like that


butane extracts also the waxes, which you dont want in your lungs ... and by this easy method - winterization - u r more medicinal lol

you dont freez the final product, its a bystep, thats what you see in the video above when he pours cold alcohol into the butane concentrate mix

alcohol, helps to further wash out the butane, but it freezes the waxes too, those clump together in the alc + concentrate solution, those waxes are then filtered away
