Emerging conspiracy Theory.
whats fishy to me
the officers who confronted him knew he was reported to be armed
they would have confronted him with guns drawn and shot him when he tried to turn his gun on them
not ducked for cover...

Looks like the Big O knows fuck-all about ballistics. Trump wasn't grazed by any of those – L-R: .308, .300 win mag, .300 norma – he was shot with a .223. Bullets don't explode on impact. They don't even fragment unless they hit something head-on.

I still have a bunch of Winchester Black Talon rounds that do indeed do fragment on impact.
Nasty rounds them little buggers.
So bad that the US eventually got them discontinued mostly due to doctors claiming they were too hard to repair the wounds caused by them.

Yes, many bullets are designed to fragment on impact, but they have to hit nose-on so that either the hollowpoint can expand or the softpoint compress and mushroom to start fragmenting the jacket. Side-glancing doesn't do this. FMJ rounds are not designed to frgament but to pass through or tumble once inside.
I shoot these as my 25-200m target round. Very accurate and very explosive, but side glances like Trump's dont cause fragmentation. The projectile needs a certain amount of pressure to push the nose in.
Start at 37 seconds and set playback speed to 25%

If I can find a video that I saw a day ago I will post it.. It was a wide angle view. It appeared that the bullet that hit Trump's ear carried through and injured the spectator at the top of the bleachers behind trump.

We were talking about the bullet trajectory after it happened – the fact it ran down the side of his head and clipped the top of his ear – and I imagined at the time that it pretty much happened the way the graphic depicted, except I posited it would have hit the back of the skull just behind the ear.
A small, fast .223 round like that (not sure what it was – it was factory ammo meaning it was likely a 55 grain projectile with a muzzle velocity of around 2900fps out of a 16+" barrel AR15) would most definitely fragment in a violent manner – that's what the original 5.56mm military round (which is ballistically almost the same) was designed to do – cause a lot of damage on impact while sacrificing penetration. it would have taken out the back of his skull and he would not have survived.
Here's a .223 55 grain V-Max at 100 yards. Remember, the bullet has to hit nose-first to start the compression that leads to fragmentation. A glancing hit will ricochette.
The reason it is much louder is because the camera is near the muzzle. When someone shoots at you, the bullet flies past before you hear it and it makes a "popping" sound. I don't think he used a supressor.

Here it is.
Also being reported that Crooks had a transceiver to detonate explosives that were in his car.
Suicide plan? Diversion for his escape? He certainly had to have researched how to build these devices.
The gun was purchased legally 11 years prior and belong to his father. He reportedly told his dad he wanted to go
to the range, and his father gave him the gun. I'm guessing it was in a gun safe which the boy didn't have access to.
