19 Years canna growing since 2004. As with Ripper and dill at OG.
But I've been on hiatus since 2019. tho I will grow again this year.

I sprouted dozens of seedlings back in '70s but never saw them through. Back when we're buying kilos of 'mersh. third of it seeds.

If memory is not failing me...

First plant...1983. Still at my folks', plant came up outside the kitchen window my brother and I would toss our seeds out. Caught it early, put it in a 6" terra cotta pot, with sandy back yard dirt. First kept it in the basement furnace room under 24/0 60w incandescent...then moved to my eastern bedroom window...then discovered by mom and destroyed. It was aboot 3' and very lanky.

Fifteen years later...
Second attempt...1998. Built a 3.5 foot tall, 2'x4' grow box with 160w of fluro, dirt from the yard, and Miracle Grow...from bag seed.

Immediately after that was done, I got serious...tore down my box, cleaned out my 4'x4' closet, got a 400w hps, used ProMix soil and Ionics nutes, and used proven clones that were gifted to me.
Everything just kept improving every grow from there.

The Med MJ passed in 2008...number of growers skyrocketed, prices started collapsing...by 2013? I'd shut down with 3lbs of personal in the pantry.

Sooo...15 actual years. But since the '90s, I've personally met and known dozens and dozens of growers...everything from brand newbies, to 40+ year experience hippies.

When I first discovered Overgrow it was like the best thing that ever happened, I used to be at work looking at the clock and waiting till it was 5.30 PM so I could go home and log on and start reading up about cannabis cultivation, was looking at the pics and drooling, I never knew cannabis could be grown indoors...

it was only a year later I found out that there was an outdoor forum too and a UK one to boot, I was engrossed in indoor growing..

really miss OG lots of great threads like the guy who was breeding goldfish so he could use the fish waste for his plants the classic thread by username "justneedit" about his strain called the purple carlotta and username "yummybuds" the best troll ever

^ did you follow Kindigaum? he was a riot. many long grow threads, never completed for various reasons,
and Krusty's no-stress bucket method with vertical lights was very impressive,
and OG Luv parts 1 & 2 by Dr Dee Snutz was awesome

maybe you'll recognize some of the avys in this vid, or maybe you'll even see your own
many of the grow pics in there were mine, and there's even a few pics of me in there, lol

early 00's i took a bus to redding then another into the mountains to meet up and help another tog
christ

walked into a crazy situation.
he was an interloper of sorts and had a severely devolmentally disabled brother he cared for
the situation wasnt good.

he had a friend of sorts but the guy was cagey and seeing me in the van wouldnt get close and kept turned away whatpot trying to talk to him.

the day after i got there after seeing the situation i bummed a ride into town to buy cleaning supplies and brake pads for his van.

his outdoor plants wernt finishing but another guy in town had parked a few plants with him and they were finishing perfectly
he just didnt have t he right genes for the local

after 10 days id had enough
way to stressful place to be

couple years later social services took his brother away from him and he comitted suicide on their office doorstep

damn.

mia stoner bought me a flight up to washington and i helped him move down to Sothern california
he was just holding on as well
we stopped off at sporsters on the drive down

a year later he dropped off the map entirely
a good bet is he stroked out and thats all she wrote...
