how long have you been growing cannabis?

if each member can please just post how many years since you started growing weed
so we can total them all up, just for kicks
of course we are a small group,
but I'll bet our combined experience totals at least 200 years, maybe 300?

I started with a pair of phototrons and a film canister full of bagseed in '86,
after i had finished my 4 years in the army
so that's only 37 years for me
i'm sure a few of you probably have me beat

learned lesson 1. got about 2' tall showed my bro.
then he pinched leafs off. about a month later it
was gone. in 75 did 3 and showed no one.

Back when I first started getting high when I bought my first bowl at the headshop, I also purchased the current High Times mag (Oct78) &
for $1.00 ...a little stapled booklet titled "How to grow Marijuana" I remember it had illustrations, maybe picks too not sure, it was so long ago. Anyways, remember it being very basic in info, with a short section on growing indoors with floros...lol

So, I managed to germ a half dozen on my bedroom windowsill without my parents finding out. Then I planted them in the woods behind the house and they got to be a foot tall or so before we raped them of their shade leaves for a buzz because we were stupid kids.

When I first discovered OG I was just looking for pictures of weed. The rest is history.

i might have mentioned this before.

i never knew anything about growing vegetables or weed back in the day, I remember when I first started my new job after I graduated it was with ABB https://global.abb/group/en international company

which made robotic arms for the nuclear industry, I've been smoking weed since I was 15 I don't think I ever missed a day without smoking weed and cigs, so after graduating I started working for ABB, I got introduced to this Irish guy who I was shadowing for my job as a newbie, after a few months of working with them we became good friends,
I never mentioned to him or anyone else that I smoked weed, one afternoon out of the blue he came up to me and whispered to me "Do you have any smoking papers" and I replied you mean for tobacco? he replied "No for weed" I started grinning
so every afternoon at lunchtime me and the Irish guy would sit in my car and we would roll up a spliff each and smoke them with coffee, this happened every day for around 9 months before we went back to work I would get out the deodorant spray from the glove box and we would spray each other to mask the smell LOL

one afternoon it was just me and the Irish guy in the "technical drawing room" and I mentioned to him that I spend too much money on weed he asked how much and I told him around £150 a week, he replied " why don't you grow it" and I said what do you mean how?? he said indoors with a grow light in a cupboard, and I said what really you can do that he said yes,

after a while the Irish guy left that job and we lost touch, one day I was sitting in front of the computer at home, back in the day I was using AOL dial-up there was only Google videos then and no YouTube maybe around 2005 ( my have the dates fucked up)

I was bored on the internet thinking what I could do on it ( I was a newbie on the net) then I remembered what the Irish guy told me about growing indoors, I googled weed, cupboard, light and it took me straight to OG nd the rest is history
