i buy the big bags and mostly use them up in 10 days or so
i store their bag on the floor of the pantry
eventually theyre eyes start shooting out roots
i just cut them off and use as ususal
am i doing this right?

yes cool dry place. store best in burlap. makes good airflow less rot.

i guess a little bit more to say. keep potatos in the dark
or skin will turn green. not good for you at all. then why your
potatos sprout so quickly. is because they have been stored in
potato sheds for a year. built quite a few of them when i built
barns and such. so when they leave shed and get exposed to some
light they will sprout. so potatos in a gunny sack in a root cellar
will last a year.
