The truth arrives: the Russian people and rest of the world were lied to about Ukraine.

From the man who has been fighting the bulk of the war on behalf of Russia, Wagner Mercenary Group CEO Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is now threatening to storm Moscow to overthrow the Russian military:

"The Defence Ministry is trying to deceive society and the president and tell us a story about how there was crazy aggression from Ukraine and that they were planning to attack us with the whole of NATO," Prigozhin said, calling the official version "a beautiful story".

"The war was needed … so that Shoigu could become a marshal … so that he could get a second 'Hero' (of Russia) medal. The war wasn't needed to demilitarise or denazify Ukraine."

Now when will the rest of Putin's stooges wake the fuck up and realise the war in Ukraine was entirely concocted, based on an unashamed power grab?

Prigozhin claims he has up to 50,000 battle-hardened troops ready to fight their way to Moscow:

"All of us are ready to die. All 25,000, and then another 25,000," he says in a new audio message. "We are dying for the Russian people."

And guess what? This could not have happened at a worse time for the Russian military in Ukraine. What are they going to do? Fight the Ukrainian offensive – which by accounts hasn't even fully begun – or return to Russia to fight their own?

Fuck Putin – the chickens are coming come to roost.

Siege developing as Wagner troops storm Russian city

Reports are emerging that Wagner troops have now crossed into Russia’s Rostov region.

It appears a siege is now developing, with Wagner tanks and troops surrounding the Russian military headquarters for the invasion of Ukraine in the city of Rostov-on-Don.

Rostov has a population of more than a million people, making it Russia’s 11th most populated city as well as a military hub.

Unconfirmed reports soldiers defecting to Wagner

Unconfirmed reports are emerging that Russian army units are defecting to Prigozhin’s side.

While the veracity of these claims have not yet been confirmed, it would represent a major blow to the President.

Apparently this is all a feint.

Wagner is pretending to return to Russia to lay siege to Rostov to draw Ukraine into a trap around Bakhmut.

Any minute now, Prigozhin is going to start laughing and saying: "Only joking! It was our plan all along! The mighty Russian army can take Ukraine whenever it wants. We'll all be in Kyiv in three days . . . Make sure someone tells Tucker Carlson – he's our greatest Western ally. He'll repeat anything we tell him and all those dumb Americans will believe him!"

Putin has doubled down, calling Prigozhin a traitor.

Prigozhin's answer? "Russia will soon have a new president".I wonder if it will be Prigozhin himself? Wouldn't that be something?

Prigozhin may be a criminal, but it would open the way for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. He is more pragmatic than Putin, and Zelensky has said he won't negotiate as long as Putin is in power.

I think Prigozhin is a smart guy and would look to restoring Russia's place in the world – diplomatically and economically (and maybe even militarily) – because this war is slowly killing Russia. Figuratively and literally.

The fact Prigozhin blames the war on ego – and not on an actual threat from Ukraine – is already a big hint at what his position might be.

"Why was the war needed? The war was needed so that a handful of scumbags could have a blast and get PR attention showing how strong the army is, so that [Russian Defence Minister Sergei] Shoigu could become a Marshal," Progozhin said.

"The war was needed not in order to return the Russian citizens to our bosom. And not in order to 'demilitarise and denazify Ukraine'.

"It was needed for one star with additional embroidery so that one mentally sick man could look good on a coffin pillow."

The hammer in Prigozhin's public comments was that Putin was wrongly advised on the need for the war in the first place.

He has said that NATO was never a real threat to Russia, and that Putin should not have been advised such.

Kremlin faces internal stirs of mutiny.
It seems that the Wagner leadership is at odds with the Russian military, according to this article.
Should Putin be ousted, the power vacuum would be filled by my guess, almost simultaneously.
Prigozhin seems like a ruthless and ambitious enough to make a run.

Russian military has attacked Wagner forces, who claim to have shot down a number of helicopters. Also blown up oil depots to prevent the Wagner convoy from refuelling. I don't think Moscow has enough forces between it and Wagner to stop them. They're all deployed to Ukraine. Prigozhin is smart and his forces know how to fight better than the Russian military. I think they'd be less scared of their fellow Russians than the Ukrainians fighting for their homeland.
