are any of our thoughts conscious themselves?

Stoner ramblings. Totally made up fictional shit that nobody means at all but is exercising their imaginations.

If you need me to bang your wife you know where to find me.
And there would be nothing wrong with that!

You are a solid gold butt plug aren't you? Does she get to keep you afterwards?

OK, back to the topic . . . Are we talking about thoughts per se or manifestations of thoughts? If the latter, then AI is a manifestation of human thoughts that could well become self-conscious.

Also, the fact that "humans" are actually made up of micro-organisms (mitochondria charged eukaryotic cells) means we're actually an organism made of other organisms, which begs the question: which part of us is "self-conscious"? Are all the cells in our body self-conscious? They certainly know how to replicate and perform whatever duties they need to perform to keep the host (us) alive. But at what level are we "self-conscious"?

Certainly those cells are a sub-set of the human condition, even if our "thoughts" aren't. Or they might be, but they (thoughts) don't really do anything until they are manifested.

Is binary code self-conscious? Aren't thoughts simply instructions?

my girl dearly departed Acharya S, whom he criticized in part. I follow him on FB.

i dont know the particulars. he really is a scientist.

he slashes through a number of assumptions which never the less go presently relied on
Bit off topic, but this was Acharya.

Carrier didn't agree with her interpretation that the story of Jesus' birth was inspired by the Luxor story of the birth of Horus.

Maybe this good read is a bit more on the topic you're looking for? :bonghitter:

What Does It Mean to Call Consciousness an Illusion?
Consciousness is a construct, a computational model—and as such, it is an illusion of something else. For example, that you are a single unified person observing all things from a single Cartesian point. That’s fake. Useful. But fake. “You” are actually spread out over dozens of disparate information processing systems and data storage registers across your brain that don’t operate in perfect simultaneity much less exist at a single point or even have a common purpose. And qualia (the entire content of consciousness, from colors to feelings to thoughts) don’t exist outside your mere belief that they do. They are not located at any point in spacetime; they have no mass or energy; they are not made of anything. They simply are what it is to process information a certain way.

you mean the stories told about the world

the world is its own record and makes quite the mockery of most of the written word.

the world is much more the record of all the layers that build up at it does its thing and the gravity mashes on the lithosphere and we start seeing eons in the barely obvious word gods creations has thrown in our face...

those other life forms that submitted to surviving on us

ya, i think their conscious
at least our equal seeing as were short on adequately describing it
but theyve submitted to millions of years of confines
thats bound to leave a mark
no matter if its warranted...

theyve subject to millions of years of being sub-routines

lets say their people

what then?
the intolerance of the old order is emerging from the rosy mist in which it has hitherto been obscured.

we are slaves to pets and plants. botany of desire is a good read
on the plant part. i think pbs made a video about the book.
is about apples, tulips, potatos pot ect. and mans interaction with them.
we are born with a few instincts like all living things.
other things we learn hot stove look out stuff.
then there is this.
lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.
chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, kindness, patience and humility.
we have some of all these things, yet all different in our own ways.
:smoke:
My therapist says I am a habitual liar and an attention seeker, therefore nothing I say/write is true and under no circumstances should I be believed nor held accountable for anything I say. all photo's are paintings

People are born with the instinct to fight against their own death, to struggle with their last breath against even the most unavoidable and uncompromising ends.
