20 year ago was hooked on meth…..started coaching little league teams, couldn’t exactly go to games or practice high on coke or meth….I’ve been clean for 19 years now….have been the President of a 500 kid league multiple times and was a board member for 12 straight years, I have traveled all over doing tournaments….I have watched multiple kids including two of mine use sports as a path to college.

Had my third kid 19 years ago too.

Little League is all about volunteering, but it’s lead me to be a paid school softball, basketball and soccer coach and also a school athletic director. Don’t know how they hired me to be an AD, guess they were desperate….I was so out of place at the AD meetings.

Kids today don’t really have cliques like nerds, jocks, stoners….the cliques are way more diverse made up of all walks of life…school is a lot different than when we went to it.

i was introduced to baseball one day at school in the 3rd grade, and was cut from the team on that first day. Probably because there were no other kids in my neighborhood, and my dad had never taught me a single thing, like how to throw or catch a ball, things everyone else already knew. Once after he had left us the following year, he came and took me to an A's game, to see Vida Blue, but he was out that day. I found the down-time in-between plays to be excruciatingly long and boring. never again. end of story, lost all interest in it forever, and never had any children either. and you don't even want to get me started on football... let's just say the bone sticking out of my arm kinda put a damper on that for good as well, and trying to learn basketball from scratch didn't go much better either, with multiple injuries. I've never been able to give a flying fuck about any sports since.
