i have not grown a outdoor plant in forever. while back planted
a org a11 into a 1 gal pot. to put outside. got a ugly spot to put it
crap scrap and 3 sides of blackberry bushes. i cleared a spot then
sprayed weed killer around 2 weeks ago. i looked today and resprayed.
plant will go where that stake is in middle.

then a photo of the plant. i got it outside today and will be in the pump house
under a LED bulb at night. till after mothers day i was told or would try to bloom.
when i go to dig hole i might plant it then and run a cord to it with LED bulb at night.
still debating that option.

i kind of plan on a plant it and forget it. but knowing me will help it along.
it might not even make it in slug snail and other cridders spot will see how it goes.
that's it so far.

1st day fail got windy. plant was leaning when i went to
put away for the night. so piece of bamboo and twist tie.

slug and snail heaven around here. they like cardboard
as much as worms do. was mostly blackberries around the
surrounding spot. anyway i dug a hole today. will de rock
soil and add some pro mix, perlite and pellet ferts to it.
got everything cept some wire to go around base of plant.
lot's of rabbits around here. also have a old tube of tanglefoot.
is like that sticky yellow stuff on pull out fly traps. hope it
keeps slugs and bugs from base of stem. will also add a bunch
of slug bait around. will try to remember my cam before i start
planting it.

could not find the tanglefoot oh well. spread a lot of slug
bait. did not take camera out did not want it sitting in the
sun. because got bad ticker so do things in stages till i hurt.
post hole diggers would have been nice. dug a 3 1/2 ' deep
hole a bit over 2' around. i added about a cup of N pellets
to bottom. then a 5 gal of water to hole. that was last night
after i got hole dug. today added another 5 gal. then i mixed
3 one gal grain scoops of perlight. 1/2 a 5 gal of pro mix and
cup or so of pellet 10-20-20 ferts. took a while to mix in wheel
borrow. then with grain scoop started adding soil. every 8" or so i
packed down with a tamper. then added a handful of the
10-20-20 some azolite trace elements and watered in each
time. got it near full for planting. then i set a same size pot
into hole and put some soil 1/2 way up it. then plant has been
getting bloom ferts for a week now. mixed more last night 1 gal
of 5-57-17 and some superthrive. i poured 1/3 of it into empty pot
in the soil. after it soaked in i had remembered i got some great white.
spread some in bottom of hole i had pot in. then i grabbed the plant.
a bit root bound so tore into it to free some stringers. planted it filled
rest of hole in. then built a little dam around it. used most my soil.
poured the 2/3 of the gal onto top of plant to water in. then i drove
a T post and across from it a piece of rebar pushed in well took a rock.
took 2 of those foam covered twist ties for plants and put low on main
stem with tie wire. it's not moving. the twist ties made about a 3" circle
so should be big around enough when plant is older. will take photo
tomorrow. plant has loved the sunlight last 10 days and is growing.
still need some wire for base of plant case of rabbits. will look around
tomorrow. but it is in 1st outdoor i have grown in at least 20 years.

transplant went well. looks happy today. hottest day of
the year so far. i had it outside during day for 10 days.
then was in pump house at night with a led.
still need to find some wire.

walked around orchard last night looking for what i call a
pee bucket. a 5 gal bucket with a 1/4" hole 3-4" from bottom
as not to clog as often. found one and cleaned it up. added a
piece of wire to handle for when it does clog. took it and a
watering can to plant. set it up and adjusted stream into the
dam around plant. put 2 large rocks into it to keep it in place.
the tanglefoot. has been about 30 years or so since i got the tube
and only used 2 times. memory said is in 1 of 2 places. i looked
last night in 1 place not there. tonight looked in 2nd spot. noticed
some salt ferts that were wet so tossed on a tray. then looked shelf
to shelf moving things. then vola the tube big cap so was not laying
flat. noticed bottom of tube had split. so used some tape on it. will
do base of plant tomorrow with it. had marked T post with a sharpy
where top of plant was. looked today grew about 1/2". so guess no
shock. looks happy.
