Unmoderated except for TOU and security breaches.

IRS gun grab

Post by roller24 »

This notion entered my head as soon as I heard that Biden was hiring 80k new agents.
Enough that I did some research to verify that it could be done.
Back in the days of prohibition, the Tommy Gun plagued law enforcement's effort to battle the organized mobsters of the time.
Knowing full well, they could never outlaw the gun, the US Treasury boys levied a 900% tax on the purchase there by virtually eliminating the flow into the market. They did a similar measure with Marijuana Tax Act.
I tried to reason it away, but the reasoning didn't add up. In an age of instant data, and computer processing. What are 80 agents going to do?
Then you hear reports that the IRS bought like all these guns and a million rounds of ammo... wtf would they ever have occasion to use so many rounds.
The push for gun control has never been more intense that today. It makes sense that if the US Treasury enacts an inhibitive tax on gun ownership, the majority of gun owners would not pay the tax, or not be able to pay the tax. The IRS could then demand the untaxed arms be confiscated, until which time the tax and penalties are paid in full.
It sounds far fetched but every so often I hear something that add credence to my suspicions.
80 billion dollars thrown at the IRS this week raised a brow.

“ The 87,000 number appears to come from a 2021 Treasury Department estimate of the level of hiring needed to maintain IRS efficiency and keep up with retirements and other staff declines.”

Just make gun owners collectively responsible for all the obvious damages their bloody hobby/mental illness inflicts on society by requiring insurance sufficient to pay all the costs incurred by the widespread and uncontrolled presence of firearms. If that proves unworkable or politically unfeasible, transfer the costs onto the purchasers of ammunition or self-loading supplies. I have no problems with firearms that have no ammo to load into them. There is no 2nd Amendment right to ammunition.

I read that. seems to be a unique problem to this agency. I suspect that was released to ease inquiries as to other reasons.

Armed IRS agents raid gun shop and collect all purchasers information data.
This is how they build the database of owners for confiscation, I would suspect.

Newsmax…..

It was a joint raid including ATF and local PD

…and there’s already a database that can trace guns through the wholesale and retail distribution chain to its frst retail purchaser.

private gun sales should be regulated.
you cants transfer ownership of a gun until the buyer has proven hes legally eligible to own

bush gutted the irs manpower and obama didnt nothing to reverse the trend which trump them acelerated.

the only people nervous about the irs getting more agents are the 1% who collectively withhold hundreds of billions of dollars from the state that they owe...

Nice to know you guys are behind the police state.

Newsmax ran the story and no other media carried it. So sue me.

Nice to know you guys only watch MSNBC.

I began this thread because when Biden hired thousands of Treasury Agents and armed them, I saw a red flag. Considering the excessive efforts to disarm Americans, I pondered if the two endeavors were linked in the same manner that the government used previously to remove the automatic weapons during prohibition.

This week I see the story on twitter about "Armed IRS and ATF agents" raiding a gun shop in Montana, and seizing only the records of gun owners who have done business with that store. If the government maintains these records, then one must ask why they would seize the records that they did, other than a show of force.

Should the US government attempt to confiscate guns, I can think of few options other than armed agents going door to door of gun owners.
