I was looking for a full concert video.
Found lots with good video quality....but all had shit audio quality.
So I looked for a full album video.
Lots of album playlists, but no single vids of a whole album...but lists won't embed.
However, I did end up finding a good, lengthy compilation video...

Whoever put this together....it plays like a "Best of.." album.

Only time I saw them. 77 was their 1st US tour. They were the opening act for Kiss, and we had never heard of them. Lol

Notice his wireless guitar setup, state of the art technology back then. Angus left the stage and doing the duckwalk, circled the floor section of seats while playing a solo. We tagged him as he went by. Needless to say...blown away!

My life problem has been. When it gets cold in the fall. MY blood thickens. So my blues slow down and my fingers. Kinda ... um thicken in the blood flow so they ain't so fast. At first in the fall I can play but come frozen January February and March... I start gettting back warming up. Spring the frogs get up but the Toads sleep in later.

If I had to pick a top....pretty easily that goes to Led Zeppelin.
My core genre?...safe to say rock/hard rock/metal.
I like jazz, preferably heavy on brass.
And as I favor strings over a keyboard, blues fits right in too.
Have a love/hate relationship with a lot of genres...
...like I love old outlaw country, but hate the newer pop country.

I like a wide variety of stuff, but I usually have to stumble across most of it.
For instance, Amy Winehouse...she is "popular" and I don't do pop...
...so I'd never heard her, until you posted her the other day.
I thought...hmm, that's pretty good.

Then going through the Billboard lists I ran across her...

Because of my pre-conceived notions of what I thought her music was like, I've been missing out.

But I'll certainly be looking at more of her stuff now.

That's why I like this thread....because I get exposed to new stuff.

We stayed at this little chateau which is owned by a film score composer who has a 16-track recording studio built into the chateau, and this is a chateau that Chopin once lived in; really old, just delightful, out in the country near the town of Auvers-sur-Oise, which is where Vincent Van Gogh is buried. We were there with nothing to do: France, a 16-track recording studio upstairs, all our gear, ready to play, and nothing to do. So, we decided to play at the chateau itself, out in the back, in the grass, with a swimming pool, just play into the hills. We didn't even play to hippies, we played to a handful of townspeople in Auvers. We played and the people came — the chief of police, the fire department, just everybody. It was an event and everybody just had a hell of a time — got drunk, fell in the pool. It was great."

^On the back of their debut album, under "special thanks to:" ~ the first name on the list is Gene Simmons. It was everyone else in the kiss camp who didn't get it. Gene pretty much discovered them. That's not to say that they wouldn't have otherwise been discovered. It was their destiny.

ive read van halen had most of their first three albums worth of material assembled before they recorded their first

the van halen brothers were consummate driven musicians and brought more than a decade of dedicated trade craft to the band

they dismissed their bassist upon their first contract signing and brought in micheal anthony. he was previously a lead singer and well respect professional musician.

his real name is micheal anthony sobolinsky,
his younger brother was in a local southern california band Cats & Dogs. they practiced out of a rollup storage space that opened onto an alley in, gosh. i think it was el monte. other members of the bad were school friends and we would all show up to watch and listen.

the cops would harrass sometimes and once when they were all marched out to put their hands on the cop car to be searched their drummer pulled his nut sack in through a hole in his pocket so when the cop was feeling around in that pocket everyone else knew and the cops embarrassment was funny

about 1990 a good friends parents bought micheal anthonys home in a gated community at the top of glendora. he moved a block up the street to a home with an 8 car garage as he was a car collector.

he would sometimes pull over to talk with us if were were out front. super nice guy

Well, maybe with other musicians, but he didn't get much respect from the band...

Anthony was a 20% member (manager Noel Monk being the 5th) of all debts and profits, including merchandise, until midway through the 1984 tour, when tensions rose to the point that Roth and the Van Halen brothers insisted that he sign away all future songwriting credit and royalties, retroactive with the current 1984 LP.

Initially when Eddie and Alex asked Hagar to rejoin at the end of 2003 for a 2004 tour, the plan was to not invite Anthony back. Hagar, however, refused to perform if Anthony did not rejoin, and Anthony agreed to play but on a reduced royalties contract.

Seems that Sammy had more respect for him...as he's been in Sammy's bands since leaving VH...

i thought it was amazing
