chatGPT welcome to the future

After enjoying the fruits of your labors, we all need a place to chill. This is that place. Totally senseless irrelevant banter encouraged.

chatGPT welcome to the future

In the heart of a rugged wilderness, where the jagged peaks kissed the sky, lived a man named Lucas. He was a seasoned mountaineer, renowned for his courage and skill in conquering the most treacherous rock mountains. But there was one peak that had eluded him, a remote rock face known as the Death's Edge.

The Death's Edge was infamous among climbers for its sheer verticality and unforgiving nature. No one had successfully reached its summit, and tales of failed attempts and tragic accidents echoed through the mountaineering community. Lucas, however, possessed an insatiable hunger for challenge, and his eyes were fixated on the treacherous face.

One fateful morning, Lucas packed his backpack with a full rack of climbing gear, ensuring he was prepared for any obstacle that lay ahead. The rock face was located ten grueling miles away, in the heart of an uncharted wilderness. Most climbers deemed it irresponsible to embark on such a journey alone, but Lucas was undeterred.

With a brave heart and unyielding determination, Lucas set out on his solitary trek. The dense forest swallowed him as he followed a faint trail, navigating through rugged terrain and battling the elements. Sweat poured down his face, but his spirit remained unbroken.

After hours of relentless hiking, Lucas finally arrived at the foot of Death's Edge. The towering wall of rock loomed before him, daring him to defy its reputation. Ignoring the voice of caution, he anchored his rope and began his ascent.

Every move was a test of his skill and courage. He scaled the rock face, clinging to minuscule handholds and relying on his expertise to navigate the treacherous path. The wind howled, threatening to knock him off balance, but he pressed on, inch by inch, refusing to succumb to fear.

Suddenly, disaster struck. A crucial handhold crumbled beneath his grasp, sending him hurtling towards the void. Time seemed to slow as Lucas fought for survival. In a stroke of luck, he managed to grab onto a ledge, his fingers desperately clinging to life. His heart raced, his mind racing with regret for taking such a risk.

With a renewed sense of caution, Lucas resumed his ascent, making each move with precision and care. The further he climbed, the more dangerous the terrain became. Loose rocks threatened to dislodge under his weight, and his muscles burned with exhaustion. But he pushed through, determined to prove his mettle.

After what felt like an eternity, Lucas reached the summit of Death's Edge. His chest heaved with exertion as he surveyed the breathtaking vista before him. The victory was sweet, but it was tempered with the realization of the risks he had taken. He vowed to learn from his reckless choices and to inspire others to climb responsibly.

As he descended from the perilous peak, Lucas couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and gratitude. He had been fortunate to survive, to be given another chance. And as he walked back those ten miles, his mind filled with plans for future climbs, he knew that his experiences would shape him into a wiser and more responsible climber.

Lucas hoped that others would learn from his story, understanding the importance of preparedness and caution in the face of nature's challenges. The mountains had tested him, but they had also granted him a gift—the hope to get another chance, another opportunity to conquer the peaks that called to his adventurous spirit.

did your query say climber or climbers?

"climber's" was the point big point as a full rack of protection gear makes way more sense AND could lead to much drama about that. just not much drama to be drawn from a full rack and a single climber, as chatgpt illustrates. it missed the huge calculated risks you take plugging protection in and then how far above it your willing to climb.

traditionally climbers having to hike in only bring a bare minimum rack with them and then climb a route that they can manage taking huge risks should they fall. this necessitates climbing a route far below your potential. with a full rack you climb routes far closer to your top ability as it generally affords less risks of severe injury in a fall. you can climb routes where in place it might take you several efforts to climb through a difficult section.

id tossed in those adjectives to see what chatgpt would do with them. sadly, the story reads incredibly bland to me. making me think i can now easily percieve AI authorship in writings along not only this subject but in treatments of 'classical' characters in stories.

bland is to kind a word; i dont think this even rises to the level of pulp.

I think you can make the story to be more fluid and exciting, you just have to work with the " keywords" and you can regenerate the story if you're not happy with it, the AI will rewrite the story, and you can also tell it to write it in the style of an author you like or an author whos an expert in mountain climbing and it will rewrite in that author's style...

damn thats downright evil.

writers are about the last bastion of content creation. notice their out on strike in california? the last time they went on strike it was over the sinister clause in their contract which would exclude them from payment for anything streamed over the internet. they wernt stupid and their fighting numerous VILE attacks on them being able to have careers as writers.

your going to see STARING ACTORS who only got paid for the couple hours it took to take pictures of their face and read a long sentence into a microphone.

that will be it! the AI will take it from there...

just be aware, by using chatgjpt youve allowed an AI to PROFILE you to much better degree than it could by only reading everything youve ever written. although gpt might have access to everything youve ever done on a smartphone. every search, every read, every click, every swipe.

your gestures on a touchscreen are effectively fingerprints AND alot more...

The CEO of OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, has urged US lawmakers to establish regulations for artificial intelligence. Sam Altman warned on Tuesday that the technology “could go quite wrong,”

Senators quizzed Altman about the specific threats posed by ChatGPT and similar models, with Josh Hawley of Missouri asking if the technology could potentially influence elections.

“Should we be concerned about models that can predict survey opinion and then help organizations and entities fine-tune strategies to elicit behaviors from voters?” Hawley asked.

In response, Altman stated that AI’s powers of persuasion were one of his “greatest areas of concern,” insisting that significant work must be done to regulate the technology ahead of the 2024 US presidential election.

Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut noted the potential dangers posed by AI to the job market, calling it “the biggest nightmare” facing the public. Altman admitted that some professions would eventually be automated out of existence

the UK government are doing a trial where they will pay 30 people UBI ( universal basic income) for 2 years at £1,600 per month to see how it will go because these jobs will be done by AI and will leave many people surplus to requirements.....

1. Omni-present surveillance
According to texperts/techsperts Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin of the Center for Humane Technology, if there was any hope that we as a species would view the book Nineteen Eighty-Four as a warning and not an instruction manual it likely just died.

The pair spoke earlier in the year about how we fundamentally misunderstand the limits of the Large Language Models (LLMs) we are currently interacting with in software like Google Bard or ChatGPT. We presume that by language we mean human language, when in reality, to a computer, everything is a language. This has allowed researchers to train an AI on brain scan images and have the AI begin to loosely decode the thoughts in our head with impressive accuracy.

Another example saw researchers use an LLM to monitor the radio signals that exist all around us. The AI was trained using two cameras in stereoscopic alignment, with one monitoring a room with people in it and the other monitoring the radio signals within. After researchers removed the traditional camera, the second camera was able to accurately recreate live events in the room just by analyzing the radio signals.

Newsflash, AI has now been able to incorporate wall hacks into real life. All of which points to a future where privacy is no longer an option. Potentially, not even within your own head.
