I like the way she pointed out with all the extra fees and taxes Black Market weed is cheaper. When I was buying weed I never paid $14 a gram! True that was decades ago...

Is that what I can expect to pay in a store to buy bud?

I'm not sure I haven't been to a shop in a long while. Last time I was there they had all the bases covered as far as "prices" but the quality matches - most of the higher priced stuff is priced this way to pay back the marketing budgets they spent to embellish their false image inside the culture ~

When rec first started here, oz range was $300-600.
This past June(?) the range was $59-600....I grabbed a $35 eighth.

Caregiver...
This month got a 40 gm "ounce" for $40....scrappy outdoor, slightly seedy...
...also a $100 oz of a top shelf 11 week sally.

Been interesting seeing the prices slowly dropping over the last couple years...from both sources.

my local dispensary has decent buds for as low as $3/gram with $15 8ths on get 5 for price of 4, and then a medical discount total $55 for 5 8ths, but my fresh outdoor harvest was good enough to last me more than a year.

These low prices are why transparency is important imo

Also to Bob's point - only a % of the white market flower even makes it to the shelf. The money that floats them comes from their out of state black market sales that don't go on them books

It is interesting to see the price flux on both sides when it's still practically the same

I bought a nice QP of local Purple Punch for $280 from a friend in July, which lasted me all 3 months until last week.
now I can smoke about 3 times as much if I want to and it will still last me over a year,
so I'm back to smoking a Raw each morning and evening, and bubbler bowls during the mid-day.
but I have a box of 1400 king cones, well, minus a few hundred from my previous harvest

the Train Wreck Arcata cut was not legit
it's not the train wreck I was looking for
so I'm not really exactly sure wtf it is,
but other than that it's not bad at all...

but I won't be buying anything else from them.

I heard from a friend that the bottom has really fallen out of the market in California.

Says to me it’s so much over saturated that farmers are lucky to pull $500 a lb. after paying the trimmers.

One guy I know, I heard was getting it on a front at $800, selling wholesale for $1,000-$1,200. So that puts it ~$65 an ounce?

Now there are a few others here telling me some farmers are willing to finance out their harvest at $200 a lb. just to get the cash up to keep their farms.
