Gimme The Good Earth 4.1
Okay, I'm giving up on the Oregon Coast Trail. I tweaked and re-tweaked the route to:
Start: Grants Pass, Oregon.
- down the Rogue River
- to the coast and South
- Kalmiopsis wilderness
- Oregon Caves wilderness
- into California
- Marble Mountain Wilderness
- Castle Crags/Shasta
- Lassen National Park
End: Sierra Butte.
Click for larger View Start June 1st
End: end of September.
Why: is there any reason not to?
How: got cash, weed, and vaccination.
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them doggies rollin'
Rawhide
Rain and wind and weather
Hell bent for leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rawhide!

Two questions...
What's the approximate milage of the trip?
What type of footware are you choosing to use?
Just thinking...four months of hiking...probably a lot of rough terrain...
I know what my brother's running shoes look like after just a couple hundred miles.

How much weed do you take with on a walk that lasts 4 months?
GOVERNMENT WARNING: Marijuana use can cause complex thoughts leading to better ideas of how to live your life. Caution, free thinking has been routinely reported with continued use.

Mileage? not too far. I'm old and slow and I take a lot of half days, it's a party hike not a marathon.Butcher Bob wrote:

I reckon about 800 miles.
I have some new Keens boots, same type as last time, I know the brand fits me well, despite the soles did wear down pretty dang good. We'll see.
It is a good question, I'll have to see about what I can do for replacement along the way. Maybe figure out how to have my current boots, which are used but still in reasonable shape, sent for the last month or so, jes in case.
Pic of boot wear and tear last time, and for the newbies here who haven't seen the last hike

I'm betting the next pair will be better. Knock on wood.

Last trip I calculated I used only 3/4 an ounce per month. Half of what I carried, i smoke less than when in the city, Nature has its built-in High already.smokebreaks wrote:How much weed do you take with on a walk that lasts 4 months?
Also gave away about an ounce along the trail to fellow hikers. Gifting homegrown was a real joy, I want to do that again.
Then there are weed shops in Brookings and Cave Junction Oregon, so I plan to buy an ounce or so for variety. Depending upon funds.
Sooo.. I,'ll start with about 3oz + 1oz for gifting. A 1/4 pound? Plus whatever I'm able to buy in Oregon. Logistically weed is the least problem.
