Incredible Bulk is a mixture of three notable indicas. Big Bud combines with Super Skunk and Green Spirit to create the sweet earthy flavors of hash that usher in Incredible Bulk’s relaxing effects. Its sedating effects make Incredible Bulk a great choice to help you unwind at the end of the day. Originally bred by Dr. Krippling for its heavy yields and ease of growth, Incredible Bulk is a very stable plant that makes a compelling case for indoor cultivation. The buds are known to explode in size when grown hydroponically.

Start Date: 5/28/2020
Germination Method: 1.5 inch rockwool cube

Growth Method: single bucket DWC with pond pump circulation.

Lighting: Combination of LED Flood bulbs of unknown origin for vegetation period.
will flower under 2000w equivalent cheap ass chinese fixtures Details

Nutrients: Advanced Hydroponics Perfect PH 3 part @ 2 tsp each per gallon of tap water.
No guages, No meters, Just a tried and true method.
I may up the nutrients(3tsp/gal) during flowering cycle as this strain is known to hog nutes.

Temperature: Room kept at 76F, although temps due vary with poor insulation in hot climate.

PICS FROM OTHER GROWERS

“Bred to be a heavy weight performer, this plant does not disappoint. Ideally needs to be switched to flower before it is 2 feet tall, or else it can be difficult to maintain indoors. Almost impossible to hurt this plant – it can take a huge range of ph / nutrient fluctuations, withstands extremes in heat and moisture, and joyfully devours any CO2 enhancement. This plant mutates and adapts to its environment – one perfectly grown, big plant can produce upto the same yield of twenty plants of normal size. Boxing-glove sized buds are to be expected on perfect large plants grown in Hydroponics, with CO2 enhancement. ”

I'm very happy with the way the lights are producing. Seems there is improvement over 400 watt HPS. Definitely better on the electric bill.

Corn, sugar, yeast, amalyse b .
Next bucket replaced amalyse with malt barley. This still could be more efficient I got about a quart out of a three gallon.

I wonder why LEDs aren't more prevalent in the agriculture supplying our local rec market? Most indoor here is still done using slightly better versions of the lamps we had back in OG days.

There are several reasons, but the main reason is that a lot of growers still don't trust LEDs as a large-scale option because so many companies sell shitty LEDs and lie about specs that don't live up to the hype. Which gives all LEDs a bad name.

For example, when you advertise something as a "2000W equivalent", when in fact it draws just 230W from the wall and only delivers 180-190W or so to the LEDs (the driver and fans use about 15-20% of the power); claim your LEDs are "full spectrum" when they are not (a CMH has a better spectrum than that); claim they have UV when they don't; claim they are "the closest thing to sunlight" when they are far from it; claim a 700,000 hour lifespan when the LEDs themselves only have a lifespan of 30,000-40,000 hours tops; claim 1800 umol/j at 12" which is clearly bullshit; you get the picture.

Why would anyone take LEDs seriosuly when you read all that ^ and discover just about every claim made about the light is untrue?

Sorry Irwin, I'm not trying to put the boots in, but you have to call that light for what it is. A piece of shit. For almost the same price you could have bought something decent from an American company like HLG. This 135W kit would kill that fixture, Plus it is silent and has no moving parts: https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/c ... ec-led-kit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So that's the first reason growers have been slow to adapt to LEDs – because the industry is full of shit, mostly perpetuated by lying-arse cheap Chinese vendors, and a lot of growers aren't yet sure what they're looking at.

Another reason is set-up costs: good LEDs can be more expensive than HIDs, but that cost is offset by other factors. You save at least 1/3 of your direct energy (lighting) costs, as well as climate control (aircon) in warmer environments; you never have to replace light bulbs; LEDs last for years and do not lose light output as fast as HIDs; better spectrum for the same wattage can mean better yields.

But mostly I think its just a matter of people catching on to the technology. Most growers who switch to decent LEDs never go back. If HIDs were better, I wouldn't have made the switch myself. Indeed, I was as skeptical as anyone that LEDs could replace HIDs, but my first grow detroyed that myth.

Anyway, now that I've fucked Irwin's thread, I'll STFU and let him grow.

I don't want to keep spamming the place up (I'm already doing a pretty good job!), but if you guys are interested in any LED stuff you'll definitely be looked after. We're not in a position to start giving them away just yet, but we can offload them close to cost price for you guys if you want to try them to compare with what you already have.

Here are some photos I took the other day of a CMH/LED mixed room. The LED in the photos is one of ours.

What was the deal with the pond pump? Did you have a waterfall effect inside the bucket to aerate it, or were you just using the pump to circulate water?

Aeration is obviously the key to DWC, and most people think it's the bubbles that blow through the nutrient solution that saturates the water with oxygen. But nearly all the oxygen exchange is at the surface, and happens when the bubbles burst and break the surface tension of the water, allowing the oxygen to be dissolved.

It's been a while since I did DWC, but the other trick to start new clones or seedlings – if you're not already doing it – is to keep the rockwool suspended above the waterline. If you are now using an air pump and aquarium stone, you need the rockwool cube and the basket it sits in to sit in the region just above the surface where the bubbles burst and create a fine mist of oxygenated water (like the effervescent bubbles on top of a glass of soda). That will give the roots the best start.

You also want to keep temperatues as best you can between 15C and 21C. Cold water lacks metabolic warmth which slows root growth. Warm water is less dense than cold water and does not absorb as much oxygen. The warmer the water gets, the less oxygen it dissolves and that is what leads to root rot. Pythium root rot thrives in anaerobic conditions and breeds exponentially faster in warm water. If your water is consistently above 25C, it can be a problem, but you can still manage DWC as long as you have lots of aeration to compensate.

See? It's a good thing you didn't eat me, because sometimes shrimp come in handy!

I live in a tin can in a swamp, so temperature has always been my DWC challenge. The pond pump I was using was pumping water up above the surface and falling back down to create maximum surface exposure. THis particular time the water was jetting very close to the rockwool cube, and was running 24/7. Pump friction heated the water to an unsafe level. I have moved it into a smaller bucket, with the air stone. I haven't had this issue in quite a while, I guess I got unvigilant about heat. The room's target temperature is 76, but in the heat of the day, the room hits close to 80F which is of course moving into the danger zone. I've alway's grown hydro. Soil here always gets infested with root aphids, spider mites, fungus gnats, whiteflies and other vermin.
I've got a 2nd seed if this plant doesn't recover, and that's fine, because I wouldn't mind leaving town for a week or two later this summer, and not having a grow in progress will be less stressful.
And.... hydroisbetter... or at least faster, when done properly.

This is GG4 at 25 days.

I grow in hot climates in Australia without aircon and coco is the best compromise there is. Almost the same growth as hydro but more reliable and not as affected by heat. There are a lot of advantages to run-to-waste coco.

Days: who the fuck knows.
I do know, I am an impatient farmer, who usually can't make the 60 day mark. I think this went to 12/12 on 5 26 so....day 52 or something. Unlike many previous grows, this one is not needed as I have it's little sister at 51 days, and still a few grams of SSL from the last run. I have a theory about my root rot. Maybe covid has triggered the ultraviolet radiation of imported shit. I dunno. I cant seem to get a seed to make it past 2 weeks and I'm on beano #5. I always get my bitches up and growing, so I'm really in dismay about this streak of ill luck.

This is a weird strain . I believe it's due to the environment here in the tropics. I've managed to nurse her back to life by transferring into soil

I have cut two clones which already have roots and I will try them in the coco fiber.
15994865171427267597516350690170.jpg
I germinated the second seed and started it in Coco fiber and the root disintegration is prevalent.
15994866297395337995312185355523.jpg
I removed most of the coco fiber and some healthy roots are redeveloping. If I don't get more root growth I will also transplant into soil.

Ive been slacking on my threads since "The Incrdible Bulk" fiasco. I thought I had lost my green thumb. Root Rot hell is a deep dark dank landscape, and once you've trudge threw the slime oozing from the rockwool cube, it's not a place you are willing to return.

I didn't use any pumps after the roots reached a level of liquid, and this was also to avoid any added heat. pumps when submersed can heat the rez up rather fast, especially a small 2 gall.
I didn't get many pics, but here she is as my little sherbert in early veg. As you can see the lack of Prawns LEDs have little effect on obtaining ample light. The Chinese Cheapies seem to keep the plants very cheerful.
