The Chilli Lovers Thread
OK I have so many chillis and peppers going that I thought I better run a thread for them.
I know that many of you grow them too, so this is where we can gather information on chillis.
This year I'm running:
Bhut Jolokia
Dorset Naga
Naga Morich
Naga Jolokia
Trinidad Scorpion
Fatalli
Anaheim
Chocolate pepper
Ventura
Jalapeno
Ring Of Fire (Cayenne)

Naga Jolokia, although it is claimed has been tested at 855.000shu I think it would very rarely achieve this rating.
I grew it last year and it's no where near the heat of the Bhut Jolokias but it has a great taste but is perhaps more useful for someone with milder taste buds but wanting that authenic Indian cuisine taste. Big yeilds but the fruit was quite small.
It is a Capsicum Annuum variety rather than a Capsicum Chinense like Bhut or Bih Jolokia.
Dorset Naga is produced by Sea Spring Farm in Dorset.
As for Dorset Naga and Naga Morich being the same, we'll see........

i have some growing too
i live in uk.. so i have just left them out permanently since last week, dont have a greenhouse either, i grew lots under 400 watt HPS lights last season

Nice going Dill.
I still have some under 250w cfl 24/7 and the others move outside in the day and back under 600w HPS to keep some Sativas company at night.
Summer is meant to be a good one this year in the UK so I'm hoping for some kinda decent harvest, can't be much worse than last year.
My sweet chocolate peppers are starting to flower outside.

That's a lotta Fire Power! Curious what do you do with those various strains, diff. dishes for diff. varieties? mix em, or what? Far up the chain of heat as I go/grow is the comparatively mild habeñero. That's enuf for me tho as I like to be able to kinda "taste"the food! :D
Few times in Northern Mexico I have ordered Ranchero style pollo or whatever. I remember in a roadside restaurant all the hombres stopping what they were doing when they heard a Gringo ordering Ranchero.. And when I got it. Could'nt let it touch lips, or gums any more than necessary, but I sure as hell was gonna not eat it. And it is memorable. :o

I believe there's a new mild Habanero variety out, it has a peachy aroma with most fruits being mild, but a few are quite hot. Varies from chilli to chilli. Pick em early I would.
That Ranchero sounds like a meal I would eat, twice........

I really should try and grow some veggies with my lights. Its hard to reduce cash crops for veggies tho

What system?
400 or 600 watt growlux, chillis in pots in homemade soil/compost mix.
I use organic seaweed in veg.
They share the room with some cannabis plants.
My jalapenos are potted up and are outside now.
They're starting to put flowers out as are the sweet chocolate peppers and venturas.
I've turned the cfl off and am using the skylight windows for light now as summer seems to have started.
Aphids seem to be making a comeback too, bastards!
