I am going to give it another try.
The guys in that fb group told me to purge at 85 F for a longer period if I want to keep the terps.

I did a run this morning and made a slight change.
Instead of packing the cylinder as tightly as possible I reduced my amount to 80 grams and packed it lightly. Then I pumped 2 cans of butane through and it looks like I got more coming out with less going in.

One other thing I did differently this time.
I had a 25 micron bubble bag that has been pretty much useless for hash. Pure water can barely get through it. So I used it on the bottom of my tube and I got some really nice color.
I didn't know how big the muffin can expand to if you don't bring it up to a high enough temperature.
I just about sucked it into the pump but the guys on FB talked me through it.

I also eliminated a step.
Previously I had concentrated my extract with a small amount of alcohol before purging but not this time and probably never again.
I stopped the pump a few minutes ago after about 12 hours @ 90f and weighed it. There are 7.2 grams from 80 grams of weed and 2 cans of butane.
Tomorrow I will put 2 more through and see what happens.

i use a 25 micron stainless steel screen.
i figure less chance of a blow out with s/s.
got everything i need to blast some. just lazy i guess.

It has been 36 hours@ 90f and it is already hard at room temp., so I took a taste with a new coil in my Evolve pen.
Lots of flavor and it really rang my bell.
I did 2 more cans and got another gram or 2 so I think 3 cans is the right number for my device.

No.
It came with a silicone pad but I just use parchment paper.
One of the guys on FB has an interesting technique. He has a very large chamber so he lets his muffin expand until it is almost touching the sides of the chamber. Then he seals the chamber and puts the whole thing in the freezer for 48 hrs and the solvent is purged with no heat and no terp loss.
