correct. youd use it to fill the space you get scraping out all the soft wood...

preperation before can make all the difference. id alwayspressure wash if you can and use a degreaser everywhere your going to paint. be careful as both of these can leave unsightly marks anywhere you get it that your not going to be painting over.

i looked up the product. there descriptions of each are lacking to say the least but theyre are listed among things often bought with the point. the stabiliser ISNT to be used on flat surfaces your painting i figured out. but i couldnt find what primer the manufacture calls for precisely. anything labeled as for concrete should do i would think

my guess is that its more glue than paint. concrete paint is thick and might tend to sag noticeable on vertical surfaces. but that wouldnt stop me from mixing a cap full of the correct thinner into that paint. every product on the market is in the business creating more demand and product suppliments are no different the question is how likely is the situation it prevent to occur. i dont know these paints. i didnt look, is it a recommend purchase with the primer they suggest? or on the can of the primer you bought?

for most walls your painting a cleaning and then priming does the job.

ben..
just a quick question, I hope you don't mind..

cn you use damp seal paint as a primer, coz i have half a tin of Ronseal damp seal paint, I read online it can be used as a primer too, it says it can be used on exterior walls, so I am thinking I can use it on the concrete steps too?

never heard of dampseal before. damn thats quite the product IF it does what it claims.

they formula colored paints that are self priming. ive used them a few times but folks who paint alot dont like their consistance and have sworn them off

since the dampseal is designed to paint straight on and them be painted over it is effectively a primer. paints arent really my think so ialways read labels and follow their recomendations to get the most life out of them thats possible.

i do not know how concrete paints and primer are different from ordinary exterior grade paints. it might be just a label chance but again i dont know. IF there is something they have changed to make them stick better and last longer on concrete and masonary WHICH are permeable surfaces then i would suggest sticking to them for your project. you will have crossed every T and dotted ever i towards getting what the manufacture suggests is their lifespan

that is my overly cautious recommendation.

prep work is 90% of a good paint or stain job.
your product should work. i have used something like it
before. but just to make it stick better. get a really stiff
brush, then scrub it with vinegar. then rinse off and let dry.
muriatic acid would work better if you can get it. do same
scrub and rinse let dry. either will open the pores of the
cement. that makes paint stick better. if you get the acid
wear gloves and eye ware and be safe about it. vinegar is
cheap in a gal bottle. good luck
