The self-sown somiferums around here are just showing flower buds now. They are a fairly common garden plant in most older American neighborhoods, they easily go feral--where they will within a few generations revert atavistically to the species-- a pale purple flower with inky purple spots at the base of each petal.

our poppy "field" infront of our growshop is in full fruit, flowered already 2 weeks ago ..
some mofos managed to to kill 2 poppy plants, it were idiots, no signs of scraping/milking, just pure vandalism ... fuckerz!
but its funny to watch the "neighbors" , as poppy = opium = drug = heroin = terror ... and so on; they cant believe that its perfectly legal to grow poppies, they are even more perplexed when i tell them, that there are no differences between persian and european strains ... lol ... i mean sure there are (some minor), somewhere beyond the comma sign ... but in the end, it doesnt matter at all
the difference is much bigger when comparing cannabis plants and their ingredients ... just plz remind me to upload a pic or 2

Well you guys seem to be having a lot of fun with this so I thought I’d give it a whirl
If I can find time I’ll try to snap a better pic in a couple of days when there’s more flowers open.
Pretty neat that it’s like the Ronco of perennials. Just plant it and forget it.

It's an annual, but it will freely self-seed if you let it.
