what bob said, 'cept watering is time consuming for me anyways.
"then one day i picked it up,
and found that a gopher had dug a hote up under its base and eaten it hollow..."
Been there, with a cantaloupe, hollowed out, Had a pepper plant mysteriously just wilt over and die one day, dug it up to find a gopher ate all the roots, I mean all of ‘em. (Solution is a cat of course).
Yeah not having your palce suxs, still letuuce and a few things can grow in pots well, a few of us chili lovers here do it.

Lots of people say hot peppers (and i am guessing sweet too) actually grow better and are more productive in pots.

ya, im thinking a few rows of small containers on the patio would be the place to start...
get the germing part figured out...
then out in back, dig a couple holes and try a couple bigger items in them.
plenty of cats around here, we run a mill

I guess if you have NO money .67¢, .99¢ and $1.79 is expensive for nearly any variety of garden grown species you yourself couldn't eat all of what those packs can produce ...
Why has no one pointed out the obvious in bennie's original post?

EVERY package of seeds includes thorough instructions even you can understand...ben ttech wrote:specially concidering that most of them arent even properly for growing in my locations...
not to mention who the fuck knows when they should be planted,
or how deep of soil they need...
or what kinds of soil
etc etc,
what can survive if im gone at work for a week???
what will die if i get someone to water for me while im gone and they over water...
it never ends
start indoors,
devote space to this
know what your doing
water these well
starve these for moisture
there isnt any way to start gardening if you have a job and dont have 50 hours a week to devote to it,
if you cant be sure to be around full time every weeks for the whole season to take care of it...
fuck!
i dont even know why i bother thinking i should try
ive bought two dozen books on gardening over the last few years...
NONE of them solve these problems...
they only compound the questions and worries...

I don’t get a government check.
Dude you’re a fool @1.79, I have the money but it IS a rip off. And Seeds of Change (a quality company) is a little more then two bucks a package.
A fool and his money are soon parted. I do things such I make as many seeds as I can, I wait till the hardware store put this year seeds on sale for 25 cents.
I take pride in how little outlaying cash gives me good food for summer and then some.
Take yer high horse and smilies an’ bugger it. Seeds ARE getting dang expensive.
Sheesh .. you’re a downer whab. I cant get behind that

Getting out of the shower to take a shit is like getting out of your car to order at the drive-thru.
