goddamned these seeds are expensive!!!

Post by ben ttech »

specially concidering that most of them arent even properly for growing in my locations...

not to mention who the fuck knows when they should be planted,
or how deep of soil they need...

or what kinds of soil

etc etc,

what can survive if im gone at work for a week???
what will die if i get someone to water for me while im gone and they over water...

it never ends

start indoors,
devote space to this
know what your doing
water these well
starve these for moisture

there isnt any way to start gardening if you have a job and dont have 50 hours a week to devote to it,

if you cant be sure to be around full time every weeks for the whole season to take care of it...

fuck!

i dont even know why i bother thinking i should try

ive bought two dozen books on gardening over the last few years...

NONE of them solve these problems...
they only compound the questions and worries...

Empty your mind of all the political bullshit and start slow, say with only summer veggies.

Just dedicate 1/2 of your time online to your garden and you should have ample time to care for your plants.

Ben's a talker, not a doer.

He wants YOU to garden like yer life depends on it....but HE can't be bothered with it.

Nice credibility Ben. :p

Buy a few types of seeds to start. I recommend tomatoes and peppers. Maybe some lettuce too. Buttercrunch is awesome. The first two grow like cannabis basically and have a lot of the same requirements. Lettuce growing is even easier than vegging weed.

Germ some of the seeds, pick a garden spot. Plants the plants. Water when its dry. Fertilize if your soill is crappy. Wait. Eat.

Next year add to what you have already done.

Well, pick stuff ya actually like to eat first off. I see so many folks growin shit they never eat. I've had good luck with watermelon, zucchini, & green beans.

Do like jesus sez, add a lil each year. I got big plan in my head fer when everything is done, but I kin only add a lil each year, so there's some compromising goin on.:p

i know bob,
it just seems like im buying a pet
and have to be responsible forever to it

i know how to do things, which have conclusions.
finishes...

i find disiplines irresponsible to start,
without the knowledge i KNOW i can only gain practicing it

and that it, your right,
you just have to plunge in,
and avoid the deep end.

things would be quite different if i had my own place,
but thats impossible
so where ever i am, in some constant jeopardy of having to leave

so the investment seems like gambling
plus here i do have access to really good locally grown

and when im broke there is tons to foriage locally...

eating alot of dandlions and black mustard greens this month

when i was about in jr high,
i had gardens for a couple years

i loved digging

anyway, basically nothing would live, except the green beans and the tomatos...

this once the watermellon lived,
and one got bigger and bigger and bigger,

it was very exciting...

then one day i picked it up,
and found that a gopher had dug a hote up under its base and eaten it hollow...

fuck!

back then,
insecticides were the rage,

at least as far as the adult giving me pointers was concerned...

i remember this long can, like a big tennis ball tube,
it had an end that had a difuser

and youd squeeze it, and out would spray a dust
and youd spray your pants with this, so bud wouldnt eat em...

i remember how much work it was to get that dust not only on the tops of the leaves, but on their undersides...

i used alot of that stuff

no wonder i cant remember high school...
