Who? Me? Jack has got the wealth of hot hot chilies.
Hardly a decade, altho I thought so at first too, I’m going through at least one habanero a week in cooking. (not to mention all the Italian wax and jalapenos). And as long as the tomatoes keep coming in, salsa picante in fridge 24/7.
But yeah I’m all set for sweating all this winter and spring.
In soups or sauces, I just let a half of one simmer with it till it reaches the level of heat needed for the particular soup then remove it. In cooked salsas or casseroles I just mince one up in it. (be sure to wash the knife and hands afterwards)
Grilled and then on hamburgers, oh yeah. There is a habarnero ketchup recipe I keep meaning to try too..
I’ve had some .. incidents, till I figured out how to cook with ‘em. but dang, the flavor! I was relating to FAGjack’s quote earlier of : "Only a man that has gone too far............knows how far a man can go."

Thanks Dill!
“did you overwinter the habanero plant?”
No dill, that one in the pic, there is no bottom in the raised container, the roots are in the ground (and it's still working on a third smaller harvest). But I do have another one in a small pot I was gonna over winter (some inspiration from you), it got infested with aphids, after hosing it down I put it outside and the dear ate most of the leaves <slaps forehead>. It’s recovering now, we’ll see.

Hi Intrinsic..... thanks for dropping by and that lovely pic of the Habs.
I can see you still have some sunshine!
It's in short supply here so I'm very near the end of harvest.
I lost my Red Habaneros early on to frost so I bought a few "for the freezer" along with a few farm grown Dorset Naga and Whippets Tail.
