January 6th Hearings

Post by Dick Cheney »

BREAKING NEWS: Kenneth Chesebro, alleged architect of the “fake electors” plot, has struck a plea deal with prosecutors in Fulton County, Georgia.

This is extremely significant, because Chesebro was a Trump Campaign lawyer who relayed progress of the Insurrectionists by phone to someone during the Capitol Attack. He was also involved in crafting and executing the Impostor Electors plot nationally.

And Cheeseboro is a much more credible Witness then Sidney Powell.

Fani Willis has already gotten three guilty pleas in the election fraud scheme. Before the trial even starts.
The odds that Trump will attempt to flee significantly went up.

not that its impossible to buy your way through...
the intolerance of the old order is emerging from the rosy mist in which it has hitherto been obscured.

Yet Another One: Mark Meadows Flips, Exposes Trump’s Election Lies

Donald Trump’s former chief of staff has turned against him.

Mark Meadows, has completely flipped against his former boss, testifying before a grand jury that Trump was fundamentally “dishonest” about his 2020 presidential election fraud claims.
Meadows allegedly met with special counsel Jack Smith’s team three times this year. The former Trump ally agreed to have one of those meetings occur before a federal grand jury in exchange for immunity.

January 6th Hearings

Judge Tanya Chutkan hands down her latest Jan 6 case sentencing. Once again, she gives the sentence recommended by prosecutors. She declines recommendation from defense. And once again, she gives lengthy remarks about the horrors of Jan 6

Low-level, misdemeanor Jan 6 case of Stacey Stephens, 57, who pleaded guilty. Stephens sought probation and said she was only in Capitol to keep an eye on her mother who was there.
Judge listened to Stephens remarks.. then said “I don’t hear remorse”

Defense had argued Stephens was in Capitol to tend to her “elderly mother” who was amid crowd. Prosecutor argued mom was still capable of making long March to Capitol from Ellipse and breach restricted grounds at Capitol Up the stairs. Amid an angry mob of thousands

Defense wanted probation or home confinement.
Probation office recommended probation
Prosecutors wanted 14 days jail
Judge Chutkan sentenced Stephens to 14 days jail

Judge Chutkan leaned into the trauma and fragility of democracy from Jan 6

She tells Stephens:
“I don’t hear remorse for the collective trauma this country has suffered”
“I don’t see the recognition of the terror and fear”

Judge Chutkan, who has frequently championed the people (especially the civil servants) of Washington DC did so again. She said the ability of people to come here to advocate for causes “is one of the fantastic things about Washington”

Chutkan says the victims of Jan 6 include the Capitol Hill workers “who had to hide under their desks, calling their families to say goodbye”

And she mentions police who’ve since left the force or died by suicide

Judge tells Stephens: “You’ve accepted responsibility, but I don’t see any recognition” of the impact on the victims.

Chutkan then invokes a phrase she’s used frequently in these cases. “You’re not here being sentenced for your political beliefs”

Chutkan leans into her view of the Insurrection:

“The events of January 6 came as close as we will come to the overthrow of a lawfully elected government”

Once again.. including in a misdemeanor case… Judge Chutkan gives a lengthy, unscripted and emphatic set of remarks about the damage of Jan 6. And once again, she hands down a stiffer sentence than sought by defense

Meanwhile
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan reinstates Trump's gag order at the Justice Department's request. She temporarily lifted it on Oct. 20 after Trump's lawyers appealed. She reversed that.
