seems to be no poppy's. thought about it maybe it's
slugs/snails taking them out as they sprout. so tossed
some more seed. then spread some slug bait around.
hope some show up this year.

You can sow them for another month or two and still get flowering plants. Slugs/snails will eat them, but if you throw enough viable seed around, you are almost certain to get a crop in spite of the pests.

well they have not really liked this spot. i added
things this last summer. should be watered in well.
also maybe my seed is getting to old. but many seeds
tossed on there some should have popped. think it's
slugs/snails we have a lot around here. just bought
more slug bait. i spread a bunch around today.

there are a few here and there between weeds. think the
slug bait was it since i see some now. small but got the
cabbage leafs going. took pellet fert's and put around most
i seen and skipped doing whole plot. then got heavy watering
last night. then again tomorrow. they already perked up.
least i should have enough for fresh seed for next year.

last night took the old cutco scissors out to poppy plot.
took a while but cut most the grass and weeds from around
them. lots of snail shells so it was them fucking me over.
today i spread N pellets 1st then some 10-20-20 pellet ferts.
just around them. not whole thing just around the poppys.
will be watered in tonight. looks like enough of them for some
fresh seeds. while cutting weeds last night was thinking like
always. never stops i tell ya lol.. i think this fall since tiller is
going i will till. then thickly plant winter rye. let it go over the
winter, in spring instead of tilling rye in i think i will cut short.
then lay some black plastic on it for a month. then rough up
and plant. that should make it pretty weed free. least i hope.

here in california our ususal snail is of an invasive species here from france

ya, you got it
OUR garden snails ARE the escargo snails straight from i do believe the only nations pushing their culinary use on anyone...

i learned decades ago how to collect and process snails into stove ready protein morsels
id be eating them already IF my gated community didnt have them on a near straight roundup diet.

each morning my walk to the truck offers a Smörgåsbord of snails there for the taking...

"straight roundup diet" lmao ,be great if they offered jugs of 30% roundup like the big jugs they're pushing now that read 30% Vinegar making me think"I'm capable of adding 70% water to vinegar....mutherfuckrs they say there are 6 pesticide/herbicides out there still that are worse than roundup
