vanilla extract and vanilla sugar

I’ll do it the slow way….The only thing I’m trying to figure out is what alcohol I’m going to use…Everclear is super strong, vodka has no flavor like everclear but not nearly as strong…I’m leaning towards mixing a strong rum with a flavorful rum even though I’m more of a fan of whisky for drinking on the very rare occasion I drink.

you want it to be from 80-100 proof.
can speed it up by slicing the beans.
i did whole beans so least a year better in 2.

Hey Lrus007, after seeing the start of this thread, it has been running around wild like, in my wee brain.
Are you blending a few varieties of beans into your jars/bottles with alcohol?
Now that I'm out reading about this orchid, I'm fascinated by it.
Hell, a pair of quart jars would last me to the the end of my sentence here on earth.
I make cannabis infused sugar, and that would be far better taste to add some TRUE vanilla extract to that.
Thanks for sharing. Now to decide on which place sells the best bean.

i did 2 batches. did not mix any beans.
best flavor is the madagascar beans.
2nd best is tahitian beans.
mexican beans suck.

vanilla sugar sure smelled stronger when i opened a jar.
made some coconut pecan bar cookies i have made up.
is great but tried 1 more add in last night.
have to cool overnight so will enjoy tonight.
