Last night I thought they were coming from the Chat function. The alerts seemed to come in pretty quickly when the discussion was heavy.
Now I'm not so sure it was chat.
Any idea what those audible alerts are all about?

What are these audible alerts I'm getting? I'm on a PC.

I'll let you know if I hear anything. I know that chat does audio blips, I don't see anything in settings about sound, but who knows, there is a notification bell on top bar.

I use earbuds for sound on my PC.
I'm off doing something else totally unrelated to MPG and I was bombarded with these alerts.
I'm not complaining. I'm very glad people are using the board. I'm equally very glad people are using the "Chat" function, sincerely ... something I don't believe I've ever used here.
I'm more curious what it really is all about. And, can I possibly turn it off

try turning off notifications in your control panel, and maybe the chat sounds, see if it stops

It is Chat. I had the page open, the Index page with Chat on top and yeah....that's where those audible alerts are coming from.
Will modify controls now.
