Curious about inorganic growing

Post by curious newbie »

Hello! I'm a bit curious about the types of media (rock wool from Grodan, coco coir, etc) available to grow Marijuana, so I have a few questions!

1.What type of growing media do you use and why?
2.For Grodan's products or other types of rock/mineral wool, what issues have you come across?
3.How do you dispose the growing media when you’re done?
4.If you use mineral wool, what percentage of your cost goes into buying mineral wool

Hoping to hear from someone!

Isn't inorganic growing an oxymoron?

That is if it's growing it's intrinsically organic.

That could lead to the philosophical discussion what is life? Best not to go there.

Soil-less growing. Ahh now your discussing the black arts. The Darkside. :emp:

Mixing drugs tonight so I'll answer. Even if I dabbled in voodoo my answer would still be shit.

1. Amended dirt
2. None.
3. Leave it. It's good forever.
4. Not applicable, don't use it.

Lo siento

1. Coco – because it's organic, fast, recyclable and offers good buffering and moisture retention in the event of a pump/timer failure
2. Rockwool is hard to recycle and offers no real advantage over well-drained coco, IMO
3. Mulch it and/or add direct to garden topsoil
4. I don't. I used to use rockwool but switched to coco and never went back
