Gimme the Good Earth III

After enjoying the fruits of your labors, we all need a place to chill. This is that place. Totally senseless irrelevant banter encouraged.

Ahh very obserant there arson man
Yes, Kennedy Meadows is in the southern end of the Sierras.
Yes, Kennedy Meadows is in the northern end of the Sierras.

A result of a fluctuation in the space-time continuum, a known and often studied anomaly. The Resort is potentially in both places at the same time but resolves to one or the other when it is observed (visited).
Tricky eh?

Naw I'm kidding ya. There are two Kennedy Meadows and Resorts with the same name. PCTers opted for the convention of saying Kennedy Meadows North or Kennedy Meadows South for clarity.

First night I got sick, stomach acting like I dropped a lead pipe in it.
Violently shitting more then I ever ate.
It was that fukn' biscuit and country gravy breakfast at Kennedy resort. Must of been reheated gravy, with cream in it and apparently NOT brought to proper temperature.
Fuck me!
Next day and 2 miles and I was weak as a kitten.
Just Camped. Gawddamn awesome Sierras and I'm too sick to appreciated it.

In the mourning was able to keep some cheese and crackers down. But…

Made it over the all of 400 foot hike over brown Bear Pass. An easy-peasy pass. But for me an ordeal, 10 steps and rest a couple of minutes … try for 20 steps next, rest …

Me laid out. A whole mile meant an hour break. I kept trying to get up and moving but ….

Then, next to a sweet little spring,

a bird of prey as prey. I'm thinking, maybe I ought to at least look more alive rather then jes stumbling around looking half dead. A reminder to stay situational aware regardless.

Another whole mile and tried to eat lunch, instead gave up, set up the tent and crashed for the rest of the day.

As soon as I woke up next mourning, I knew I wasn't going anywhere.
Freaking weak, I could lay in the tent and read, anything else was exhausting.

By noon I had to get more water and the super short drop in the gorge was a bloody expedition. At least I got cleaned up, it was refreshing. The only pics I took all day.

Got back to the tent, lying there wondering if I'm dying, Is this what its like dying of old age? Just keep getting weaker quickly? If I cant make a water run tomorrow, I'll be dead regardless.

Shit happens.

Next mourning. WOW! Feeling much better. Cooked up a stroganoff noodle dinner for breakfast. Tasted great!

Feeling foolish from yesterday's thoughts.
Checking the view from camp I missed yesterday. Too Cool.

Letting nature sooth me back to life. And Cinco lake was an awesome place for it.
With this golden ground cover, a low variety of blueberry. Dazzling autumn colors sparkling in the sun. A true show stealer.
