Got a late start this year, these plants were put outside August 3rd, I’m guessing I’ll get about two ounces each.

Protects them from the heat.....They love the heat when they are little but once the roots hit the plastic it’s to hot.

I just found this guy who drills 2 " holes in the sides of his buckets and lines them with fabric to air prune the roots.
It stops the roots from circling the outside edge and forces them to fill the entire space.
I have often wondered why that happened when I recycled the soil that there were no roots in the center of the pot.
I just transplanted a pepper plant into such a pot and I will see how it goes.
They are taking it one more step and placing that bucket in a kiddy pool full of nutrient solution and bottom-feeding the plants so I am looking for a small pool.

interesting
theres this stuff called plastic canvas
they stich em up to get these 'paintings' made of yarn

helped with some costumes years back
and discovered how useful it was
shaping and stiffening

later
I made custom sized rock holders
for a custom sized hydro I built into a little space he had

you could easily stich them into pots
