theres this kid from the chek republic
currently living the life of the best climber in the world
rolling through the American southwest presently

worth watching is his day battling a note worthy route we got here
10 letter grades below the hardest stuff in the world that hes done

but still not easy

the style is called "off width" crack climbing and its a speciality...

The latest entry in the continuous stream of Adam Ondra videos (which we are not complaining about) sees Ondra visit Indian Creek for some hard crack climbing. While the Czech super-crusher has been at the top of the climbing game for some time, his offwidth skills have always been a question mark. Would the wide crack reduce him to a sniveling shell of a man, like the style does to so many others? No, but we do get to see him struggle for a change.

in 96' my girlfriends sister became his belay slave in California for a long time
him and his brother were tearing up Yosemite
freeclimbing the big route on the big stone that had nearly all been aid climb up until that point

aid means you pull on the gear
free means you only pull and step on the rock
your allowed a rope
free soloing is what you linked to
no rope no gear

those brothers have been climbing at the top end for more years than alex honnold and adam ondra have been alive...

rough day... after paying $3200 for my 20% out-of-pocket on a cat scan with mysterious results leads to another upcoming surgery.
I'm sure glad it didn't turn out to be a waste of money

so cancelled my $900 (50% co-pay) dental appt for tomorrow...
been waiting over a year anyway...
with any luck this cavity will certainly become a nice root canal soon

I knew this year is gonna suck... this is only the beginning...
no doubt it's going to get a helluva lot worse.

where's Nubiru when I need it? that sounds like a wonderful way to go... imagine if the gravity flips and lifts us up and up...
I'd be jumping out of an upstairs window not to miss that flight!
