Do you guys prune your outdoor?

Post by Dick Fein »

I have a couple that have crazy interior growth and I plan to open them up by spreading the multiple main stems but I am wondering if I should concentrate growth in fewer sites. Indoors it would be a no brainer but in full sun they may fill in just fine. What do you think?

it is still in grow so
you could open it up. the middle should grow up and fill in.
or
you could strip it down to main stems for larger buds.
or
you could kind of scrog it also with heavy wire.
so many choices..

If it were mine I would trim the lower branches that may touch the ground once heavily budded and lightly prune crossover branches that crowd other branches. You want light penetration but you also don’t want to over thin the plant.

Scrog could work here. This shows the site better and it would be pretty easy to anchor a structure to the shed

Scroging that wild bush would afford a lower profile, at the least...

Maybe too late to scrog?

I have never tried scrog but this will definitely need help of some sort.

This outdoor plant is a clone of this Blue Hawaiian Sativa from Jordan of the Island and this is the mother I just harvested at day 60

I was out checking it today and there were still a few black spots so I took a bit of neem oil in water and swabbed those areas with a q tip. Should I remove those stubborn areas surgically or is it just esthetic?

You did exactly right. Just do the same once a week.

Not very sativa-looking, but it looks sweet nevertheless!

I've tried everything outdoors many times; pruning, no pruning. It probably makes some difference, but it hasn't been obvious to me.
