i managed to take the core out it was more time consuming than i thought it would be...
the 2 metal screw/pins came out as i took the core out
i had these stone chuck attachments laying around so they kinda work, the middle one works the best its rough grained..

those burrs you've pictured are all for bringing down metal which isn't needed here

Caustic sod is an alkali. Have you got any pH Down? Phosphoric acid will do it.

oh yeah i didnt do that, some of the wood was stuck inside the maul head and i just used a screwdriver to scrape it all off, the little stone attachment i use on the body just to see if i could get the grime off,bentech wrote:again
