Stoner ramblings. Totally made up fictional shit that nobody means at all but is exercising their imaginations.

I was going say no, since I just talk to myself if no there is to help.

But the mantra thing … Yup

This last summer I found myself breaking trail through some nasty willows, slow going, boots getting soaked, got a rip in my pant already, scratches and bruises, the dry clear hill just not getting any closer.

being point, I had to yell for bear anyway so I just changed it to yelling FUCK! FUCK! Over n over as a mantra
It helped a little.

later i did have a little help from my friends

they make a deal about this off trail hiking
it works in places
it dont in most others

from what i read

those early first world "explores"
had it easy

cuz back before the legions hunting the bison to extinction

those creatures had a range well out to the east

and those early excplorers just followed the trenches that had been cut for them

AND

turns out those bison knew the routes

and many of todays roads and highways
follow those same paths

Game trails are usually the smart way--assuming they go the right direction. Those dumb animals aren't so dumb.

in climbing we have a term
its called "the line"

it refers to either the path of least resistance

the easiest way up the face of the rock

it seems that nature knew now
to tell animals
how to pick that avenue out of the bare ground

Cept in known grizzly area with prints sighted. Best not ,,

And in chaparral, deer and bear will go thorough things that’ll shred you.

tho I have followed fresh deer tracks over a crest in kinda deep snow in april, figuring they knew the quickest way over and down to greener pastures. Yup.

Game trails are a hit miss thing. Use ‘em but keep yer options and eyes open.

Also remember predators watch game trails, as any hunter worth his salt knows where to hunker down and wait.
