Please walk me through your thoughts here twilson. I'm am confused.
Do you think math is a physical hands-on technical study such as programming or electrical engineering?
It is not, math is an abstract or theoretical technical study.
Mathematicians truly do admire poetry and are inevitable philosophers,

maybe you are confusing technical people with mathematicians? Where are you getting that information?
I assure you among mathematicians and theoretical physicist, poetry and philosophy is quite common, the elegance of mathematics is inspiring.
I am fairly certain most if not all great mathematicians, physicists have been armchair philosophers and or poets
Take MadMoonMan here for instance.
Some math freaks want to quantify poetry it is so common among their peers. It is amusing, no?

Go to a medium or large forum and say that you believe a liberal arts degree is worth getting.
You'll scare up plenty of good little boys who talk like something out of an Ayn Rand nightmare.
Twilson as usual you’re right.
But I don’t quite see how liberal arts majors and conservatives fears correlate to math freaks by and large enjoying and dabbling in poetry and music? Since they do.
Fwiw my betters and peers are liberal or apolitical (mostly). I don’t know if that means anything, I’m so confused, just trying to figure you all out, I think I havta break out in haiku to collect my girlish thoughts.
“a mathematician who is not also something of a poet will never be a perfect mathematician.” ~ Karl Weierstrass
