1) You are raised in a society where much emphasis is placed on music. You spend most of your time listening to songs that contain humanitarian messages such as "All you need is love".

2) You are raised in a society where much emphasis is placed on technical ability. You spend much of your time alone working on technical machines.

Do you think math is a physical hands-on technical study such as programming or electrical engineering?
It is not, math is an abstract or theoretical technical study.

Twilson as usual you’re right.
But I don’t quite see how liberal arts majors and conservatives fears correlate to math freaks by and large enjoying and dabbling in poetry and music? Since they do.
Fwiw my betters and peers are liberal or apolitical (mostly). I don’t know if that means anything, I’m so confused, just trying to figure you all out, I think I havta break out in haiku to collect my girlish thoughts.

Please pardon me, I am still pretty slow on the uptake here, do not see the connection there with mathematicians and poetry.
My experience ha been those in a math field are a wide variety of gals and guys, some are handy with machines and tech (don’t confuse tech with science)
And others are embarrassingly mechanically inept.
