Week 3
Week 03
So I’m vegging 18 plants and looking for 8 females to finish. ~peace
There were 4 unacceptable twisted runts, fortunately I put 6 of the xrtra sprouts in a six-pak and kept ‘em on a window sill, one runt in there too. transplanted the good ones and replace 3 of the runts in the room. They are the 3 on the left in the above pic. So I’m vegging 18 plants and looking for 8 females to finish. ~peace

Lookin' good. Those are healthy starts, now comes the part where it starts throwing alternate adult fans and the stem thickens and toughens--actually maybe my favorite part of growth to watch.

Lowes has the perlite and its 3 or 4 dollars a bag but you don't need a lot for less than 20 plants. You don't need a lot of it.
I like to use it on top to finalize and keep the gnats from having a place to nest.
I mix 1 bag of perlite in lightly> More air is better but I like the sturdiness of just the spaghnum depends on if I buy big bales of 20 on sale at Lowes in fall of planting spaghnum peat moss with perlite already in it. or not.
If I don't use it this winter *(before Christmas) then I will use it in spring after the Jan to Mar shut down due to inclement weather and power outages.

Just because I can't spell misanthrope doesn't mean I'm completely stupid.

Week 4
I couldn’t believe it when I saw the coconuts on the little dude. Haven’t decided if doing seeds this year.
Male: Female:
2 of the outside transported in are showing sex already, a strong male and a strong female. Odd so early but the outside light rhythms musta made a noticeable difference. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the coconuts on the little dude. Haven’t decided if doing seeds this year.

I don't think I've ever seen full on flowering like that on plants still in opposite phyllotaxy except in autoflowering lines. Odd. They on 18/6?

Sorta, 16/8, which is usual for me.They on 18/6?
But as I said those two early birds were raised in the six-pak for 2-3 weeks on a widow sill, with its Fall short days and low sun angle. Apparently made a noticeable difference.
I threw away 6 runts and replaced 'em with 3 from the outside six-pak. 2 pictured above and i jes checked the other one and it too is spitting out pistles.
The good thing is after a week+ inside with longer days and more intense light they caught up in growth (good rooting), and at least I able to remove one male early, save a little on space, time and ferts.
Yep, still odd seeing balls on such a little dude.

Still looking fab. That windowsill photoperiod must've been the trigger. I've put young plants out outside prior to the vernal equinox concerned that might trigger them, but it never did. Some genetics are looking for the tiniest excuse to flower and others take their sweet time about it even under short photoperiod.
