"Seems unlikely... The one I got was a lucky fluke.
Now you are just being modest.

I keep wondering what insights Euclid might have had if he had been able to see the geometric progression of those ball bearings as they were added to the magnetic field.
He discovered geometry intuitively but if he had seen that, who knows how far he could have gone.
I would also like to see that experiment repeated in zero gravity.
Do atoms behave the same way as the ball bearings?
If they do, then all geometry can be considered fractal geometry.
Or maybe I am wrong, whatever.

No, they don't.Dick Fein wrote:Do atoms behave the same way as the ball bearings?
If they did, quantum mechanics would never have been developed.

The "you" in my post is the impersonal, not the personal. Most languages distinguish between the two, English does not necessarily. Substitute "one claims" for "you claim". Forgive the ambiguity.Dick Fein wrote:I did not make that claim, perhaps the authors did and you attributed it to me. In any case outsiders are the only ones who revolutionize anything, except for new and improved Tide and stuff like that.
The next Freddie Flintoff.

I read something today that pretty much sums up my feelings; To live a creative life, you must lose your fear of being wrong.
Unfortunately I don't know who to credit for that wisdom.
