I went to make mounds in the melon patch for watermelon and cantaloupe and only got as far as presenting the implements to the general area  Bad day!

I did take a couple of shots of the progress since the original planting...

Everything is coming up.

The larger of what you see in the back rows is "volunteer" "sweet corn" from last year. Even though they've been turned over (completely tilled--in 4 directions) twice, they are insistent :p They will be pulled or turned over again in the future.

^ ^ ^ that was when I started this post :) Presently it is 77.0F outside and 80.8 where my ass is currently parked :winky:

I had to water a dog we are sitting (Niece's while their still on vacation) so I took some pics....I wouldn't have gone outside in this heat otherwise :)

Here's the latest.

First is the Watermelon, Cantaloupe and Cucumbers in the Melon patch...

Next is the back, middle and front rows...Onions, Okra, Corn, [Tomatoes], Zuchini and Strawberry's...in just about that order starting at the back to the front (far right, middle and left respectively).

Hey dill

I can't either....I love me some sweet corn :lickslips: :) I don't remember how many rows of corn we had last year, but we pulled around 120 ears off of them and we've planted many more this year (hopefully twice as much). We had last year's corn all the way up till just a couple of weeks ago.

I forgot to mention that the end of the front row (far left and farthest away in the images) and all of the second row are tomatoes (a couple different varieties). We're going to arbor them up here in a little bit (hopefully when it cools down a bit).

Thanks for the comment, dill....I'm glad you like the thread, the garden, and took the time to comment

I've seen what you've got going on and I hope for you a most bountiful outcome/harvest!

Take care, man!,

Well, it's certainly hot enough here for them. Me and the heat don't get along, though. I dread it and desperately await the approach of Winter :p

Okra is not a favorite of mine. That whole family of vegetables...Okra, Zucchini...is not even in my list of possible favorites :p However, they are loved by many...including the folks here. Pickled, fried, boiled etc...they may like them as much as I like sweet corn, Asparagus, Broccoli and Brussels Sprouts....at least they seem to :)

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day with nephews and nieces  You must be a favored or favorite uncle :) In the states there are many such farms (Community Gardens) and mostly in Urban areas. I don't know if there are any around here....but there isn't a real need for them as nearly everyone with their own home has a garden.

Good night, dill!,

You should grow some dope, dig a hole and bury yourself about balls deep.

Getting out of the shower to take a shit is like getting out of your car to order at the drive-thru.

You Might be WHAB the Gardener If:
You mow your lawn and find a wheelbarrow.
A half moon reminds you of your fat husband pulling weeds.
You think a chain saw is a musical instrument.
You move your refrigerator and the grass underneath it is yellow.
Kudzu covers your arbor.
You don't water your front yard rather than mow it.
You know how many bags of fertilizer your car can hold.
You've ever cleaned your house with a leaf blower.
You empty the trash when you have enough to fill up the pickup.
You can amuse yourself for more that an hour with a hose.
You've been cited for reckless driving on a riding lawn mower.
You move your weed-eater to take a bath.

Getting out of the shower to take a shit is like getting out of your car to order at the drive-thru.
