MN Gov.Tim Pawlenty says veto, but, can we change his mind?

Post by WhiteHotAfterburner »

"Last night, the Minnesota House passed the medical marijuana bill, and the Senate quickly concurred, passing the bill out of the legislature and straight towards Gov. Pawlenty's desk"...

but, now he's already threatened to veto it. Let's see if we can convince him otherwise?

What follows is the message MPP put out yesterday before Pawlenty's veto comments.

The hyperlinks in this message are all working.

Minnesota Legislature passes medical marijuana bill
Dear MPP Supporter :

Last night, the Minnesota House passed the medical marijuana bill, and the Senate quickly concurred, passing the bill out of the legislature and straight towards Gov. Pawlenty's desk. Please contact Gov. Pawlenty right now and ask him not to veto the medical marijuana bill.

Previously, Gov. Pawlenty has said that he would veto a medical marijuana bill, so it's crucial that you tell him now that the people of Minnesota want a medical marijuana law. With our easy-to-use online tool, it only takes one minute to send him an e-mail.

Unfortunately, the House adopted an amendment on the floor that restricts medical marijuana only to people suffering from terminal illnesses, so many people who would benefit from a medical marijuana law will not be eligible for the program under this bill. However, some of Minnesota's most vulnerable patients will be protected, so protecting some patients is better than no one in the state being protected from the threat of arrest and jail simply for taking their doctor recommended medicine. Please take a moment now to e-mail Gov. Pawlenty and strongly urge him not to veto this legislation.

After you have sent him an e-mail, please consider calling his office toll-free at (800) 657-3717. Please let him know that as a constituent you support protecting dying Minnesotan's from arrest, and ask him not to veto this bill. Also, please pass this alert on to everyone you know who lives in Minnesota.

Thank you for all you have done to bring us to this moment. We are on the brink of making Minnesota the 14th medical marijuana state.

Sincerely,

And, here is Pawlenty's email if you care to send him a message other than the formatted message available on mpp's links. tim.pawlenty@state.mn.us

Good luck, MN, wishing you a favorable outcome!

Take care all,
