There's no real story. I'm not even sure of the details but I remember Jim DiEugenio ( one of the greatest jfk assassination researchers) making a clear point that the bootlegging story was a lie. Joe Kennedy made money at it but it was peanuts compared to what he made out of investing in the movie industry.

One thing you have to remember is that the Kennedy's were smart, observant people. They were not like the Bush clan. Joe saw the 1929 crash coming and yanked his money out of the market before it hit. I believe that the chronological order of events was that be pulled his money and then used it to invest in movies during the 1930s but I may not be correct.

Remember Kennedy became almost an economic radical in the last 2 years he was alive. He viciously attacked corporate America ( see his rants against the Steel industry ) and he was pushing for a guaranteed national income.

Kennedy was essentially the anti Raygun. The cabal that gave us Raygun have waged a ceaseless propaganda campaign to smear the Kennedy name because he was their greatest political enemy. Calling them bootleggers is just another smear along with all the other ones.

Are the events closest to us more important than events throughout all of time. So If a tower in Jerusalem falls in 32 A.D. and 300 people die. Why are they any less important than the 300 people today killed by farm tools and various implements and large machinery?

Assassins are common from beginning of mans history.
