My dad posted this on Facebook a few weeks back and the guy who wrote it was on Bill Maher last week.

Theres not much real science, just a bunch of coralations and anecdotal evidence...I believe environment is a huge factor in many cases for some types of drugs but in no way is it the only factor or main factor in every case.

The data from Portugal are pretty iron clad unambiguous. No anecdotal or correlative embellishments required. They cut heroin use in half in just a few years among many other good things--and saved a lot of money. Nobody's ever done that before.

not to mention the caes of returning nam vets,
over there, over 20% were addicted to heroin and opiums

upon return, the number fell back to 1%
which predominante no treatment for a sizable majority

it is the major factor IF your actually interested the best return on your dollar and efforts in alleviating the problem
