It’s from a story in the Bible, Lot and his wife were told to leave the city they were in because God was going to punish the evil people that lived there. In his instructions to them he warned them to not look back at the city. Lots’ wife couldn’t resist and looked back and God turned her into a pillar of salt.
Sorry, I am a preachers son, had that crap shoved down my throat as a kid, I guess I assume most know the stories in the Bible. Now I am an atheist....
