Cartoons

After enjoying the fruits of your labors, we all need a place to chill. This is that place. Totally senseless irrelevant banter encouraged.

Glad you're diggin the tubi tv.
Tons of stuff to watch there...but it's spotty for me. :frown: Some work fine, like the 5 seasons of Doc Martin that I watched recently. But other ones don't play, like the 4 seasons of Battlestar Galactica that I tried to watch. :dunno: Not sure why...maybe I need to register an account to get them to work?

But it does have things I've not been able to find elsewhere...

Every list of top animated movies always seems to include Akira (1988). An english dubbed version has eluded me until now.

Ah Ha!.....figured it out. :)
Evidently the browser on my xbox does not have the capacity to play all available selections. As a work around, I caught an xbox promotion of a free tubitv app. Now I'm getting everything. :toker1:

I've seen a couple episodes of Solar Opposites....funny shit, good cartoon.

And now that I can see all of tubitv....another violent, nonsensical movie...Dead Leaves...

So, in preparation for a little trip, I was scouring Tubi for some colorful options. It's hard to find good animations, let alone ones that are good on shrooms. I got lucky. I kept passing it by, but it kept popping up...so I put it on my list. Initially I didn't think I'd end up watching it. But, as the shrooms were starting to really grab me, I pulled it up and kicked back. Glad I did. The visuals, the story, the music...all flowed very well together. Highly recommended.

they story doesnt seem very interesting but the art and those fly throughs of the city at the beginning are fucking awesome!
the intolerance of the old order is emerging from the rosy mist in which it has hitherto been obscured.

While I like the artwork, there is nothing particularly outstanding aboot these two movies, save for one thing...

Most animated movies are a collaborative effort of many individuals...but every single aspect of what went into creating and presenting these two, was done by a single person.
Smoke A LOT...and enjoy... :toker1:

very cool nod to Komusō there at the beginning...
the priests of nothing ness

The komusō (虚無僧/こむそう) (also romanized komusou or komuso) were a group of Japanese mendicant monks of the Fuke school of Zen Buddhism who flourished during the Edo period (1603–1867).[1] Komusō were characterized by a straw basket (a sedge or reed hood known as a tengai) worn on the head, manifesting the absence of specific ego but also useful for traveling incognito.[2] They were also known for playing solo pieces on the shakuhachi (a type of bamboo flute). These pieces, called honkyoku ("fundamental pieces"), were played during a meditative practice called suizen, in return for alms, as a method of attaining enlightenment, and as a healing modality

Could've posted this in "Whata ya listening to?"
but I favor the animation more than the audio.
This is obviously RZ's art work it resembles the "tripping on peyote" scene from the Beavis & Butthead Do America...
