Unless you're in central most southern Michigan, you're not likely to see them. Even around here where it's heavy, some areas don't have them at all.

Now that I never knew. I grew up in a broodx zone, and remember them quite well. They were fascinating to me as a kid, lot's of fun to stick those shells in girl's hair. I was recently in the brood II zone and was wondering why I didn't hear any chirpers.

Talking with my brother last night, we both recall them showing up in the hottest days of July and August...so maybe they just haven't popped up in MI yet. :dunno:

Just a few stragglers left now. Their sound is in the distance now. One serious rainstorm and you'll never know they were here.
