Gimme The Good Earth 4.1
Vasque Sundowners were my go-to until they moved production from Italy to China. I've got Salomons now but they might be iffy on a 800 mi. trek.

Do you just catch a flight home when done? I've never done anything like this. It's pretty fucking awesome.

I got them at Walmart for ~$10 a few years back. cheap one piece molded, the lace is solely for looks, don't know why I don't just take it off.
Cheapo but they have thick soles, they have to be being so cheapo, so If I had to, i could hike out on 'em
Mainly they're lite at 8oz. Used 'em on the Lassen trip and still trucking.
Departure date? yup, i do!
Got a ride, leave for the drive on Monday may 24th, to avoid the following Memorial Day weekend traffic. The actual date when I start is going to be a little up to him, See he wants to make a photography road trip out of it, and maybe hang out the first or second nights on the trail with me for Old Time sake. I'm jes along for the ride.
Short version: sorta May 27th.

Since I'm finishing in the state where I live. Plan it is to take Amtrak from Reno NV, Which would be a series of hitchhike, bus, train, bus, walk last 3 miles. Depending upon funds or just hitchhike the whole way. I worry tho hitchhiking might not be viable during a pandemic. But by the end of September it could be a different world.ripper5 wrote:Do you just catch a flight home when done? I've never done anything like this. It's pretty fucking awesome.
